Default Online ammo stores completely SOLD OUT of 223

pretty crazy....can pretty much forget about finding deals on anything 223 related right now. bulkammo doesnt even have a link for 223 anymore...CTD is out of stock on everything except tracer ammo. JandG only has tracer as well....any results on other websites??

cant find 223 anywhere!! friends checked local walmarts and gun stores in bay area and northern cali and cant find ammo either....people are putting out calls on facebook for 223 and i saw one guy selling silverbear for 50 cents a round wholesale...

im really lucky that i bought 3000 rounds of 223 in the months before this so i can sit pretty for a minute....really hoping that this surge dies down and i can buy some more bricks before they implement more stupid gun control laws..

on a side note i managed to snag 4 wonder wrenches and some lancer 10-20 mags...they were the last ones in stock at that website. i have 2 complete ar15s and im inthe market for a new upper for my 3rd build and am seeing crazy things like uppers going for 1000 bucks by themselves on gunbroker!!

Welcome to the Second Great Obama Gun and Ammo Buying Frenzy.

Someone around here was suggesting that Obama was responsible for selling more guns and ammunition than any other individual in the history of the world. But he couldn't do it without the nervous, easily stampeded gun owners of America. Like a herd of thirsty longhorns just before the thunder storms roll in.

Gun Shops will be returning to something like normal availability in a year, year and a half.

Ever noticed how much pull the defense industry has in our national politics? What if this is all part of their master plan...

I think sgammo has set many things to zero since they're mostly on vacation. There's something about it on their home page.

That being said last I saw ammunitiontogo had some .223 in stock but the prices were out of hand - twice what I paid for the same stuff the day of the election.

Just looked at AbleAmmo. ALL 223 ammo is sold out. All of it! Of their 3 pages of 223 selection, nothing!

Wow. I've never seen it like this before. I'm glad I've got a few cases because it's going to take a long time to get back to normal.

I remember during other "ammo runs" the ammo manufacturers couldn't even get components (bullets) fast enough to make ammo.

And this time it is not caused by DoD buyers, as the war in Iraq is over and the war in AF is winding down.

i think this is way worse than the run in 2009.... facts seem to noloner matter and anti-gun ppl are allowing emotion to rule over being rational. The issue is about mental illness but theyre making it about gun b/c "cant let a good crisis go to waste" we of course get hosed!

I have ammo but its not what I want to use to hit the range... I went shooting for the first time in mos b/c prices are so high and availability is limited. The excuse in the past was the election and Iraq/Afghanistan. Now its just panic buying

Everyone out buying ammo needs to calm down! No new laws have been drafted or passed! The ones who don't understand our political system are the ones grabbing all the ammo they can. Once this blows over and crapstein's bill gets shot down, we'll experience some normalcy again.

It's comforting to know that some folks here have a crystal ball and the saw the future. These wizards tell us that we must "calm down" and everything will be AOK. I call BS on this just like I did about a year ago. High prices and shortages are the new normal so plan accordingly.

There is an up side to most everything. The ammo manufacturers are doing well. As long as they keep production high perhaps when the panic dies down there will be a surplus for everyone to benefit from. Then the only ones grumpy because of this go-round will be those who weren't prepared and bought high.

Time to stock up now! Buy it cheap, stack it deep.

Turnaround time for banning imported stuff is shorter than banning domestic.

Ref. 1989 non-sporting and 1990s Chinese import restrictions.
