Default S&W MP 15-22 into 9mm

Hello guys I need everyones expertise. Would it be possible to turn my S&W 15-22 into a 9 mm? I was thinking of using the same lower but a completly different upper to be used as a 9mm or if I need to do something to the lower as well. I have searched all over the internet but no luck so I figuered I would ask here. Thanks

The S&W 15-22 looks and feels like an AR15, but it isn't a true AR15 platform rifle.

You would have to find a manufacturer who would build a custom kit to fit the S&W 15-22 Lower.

You are probably better off(faster/cheaper) finding an AR15 9mm upper and matching it to an also acquired AR15 lower.

It is one of the downsides of the S&W 15-22, you do end up with a complete gun, but you cannot interchange AR15 uppers with your lower.

9mm uppers can be hard on lowers. get an aluminum one.

Sure its possible as in "anything is possible!"

Good idea or affordable and practical? Not even close.
First of all the 15-22 is not in spec with the dimensions of a standard Ar15.
This means A LOT of modification to either the 15-22 lower or 9mm upper. Not a good or cheap idea either way.

I doubt it's possible -- aside from the stated reasons by others the 15-22 doesn't have a functional buffer tube.

well that could be changed... but once again FAR from worth it and not horribly smart.
