Default HS 700 vs Remington 700

I ordered a 40 MOA Nightforce base for a Remington 700 LA but apparently my 700 comes with larger holes tapped for 8-40. Looking at the website for Nightforce the make rails drilled for 8-40 but they are listed as HS 700, what exactly is a HS 700 vs Remington 700?

As always, thank in advance.

Perhaps, its for the HS Precision rifles with a proprietary action. Though I dont know for sure.

Still looking but thinking the only difference is the HS is 8-40 standard.

As I recall, H-S Precision makes a proprietary, hybrid receiver that has most of the characteristics of Remington Model 700 yet, the safety is similar to that of a Winchester Model 70.

I'm pretty sure the rear bridge on an HS precision receiver is the same radius as the front so the rear of the rail has to be different.

They are the same, 8-40 being the difference. So Remington police or LR Tactical in 338 is the same as HS.

Order the ones for the Remmy and enlarge the holes in the NF base.

Going to see if NF will take an exchange, calling in the AM. I will also ask about the different bases.

Called NF, R700 and HS700 are the exact same. Only difference between them is the 8-40 threading in HS receivers and R700's factory chambered in 338.
