Default Guns on Clearance: Ammo Bros and Turners

Hi All,

I swung by Ammo Bros in Cerritos and Turners in Norwalk yesterday, and both locations had some long guns on clearance (red tags on them). Didn't get a chance to see them all, but Turner's had a 5.56 AR from Palmetto State reduced to $949, and Ammo Bros had a shotgun I'd never heard of before, the Tristar Cobra for $249.

The interesting feature on the shotgun is that the slide action is spring loaded. So when you slide the forearm back, you'll feel some tension, and the forearm will slide back forward in its own as you as you let it go. Based on what I read online, the forearm moves back with enough force to chamber a shell. It definitely felt pretty good.

I have that shotgun (as a backup)... the spring assist slide is garbage (I took it out), constantly caused FTF... once removed it works fine (like regular action shotgun).

What I DO like though is the extended mag tube... it's crimped inside so as stock it only holds 4 (or 5) rounds... but I was able to open it up and now it holds 7+1... was a pita, but now that's its done I'm happy.

It's a good beater (would never use it as a primary HD gun)... for the price it's worth getting - especially if you modify the mag tube to full capacity.

BTW, the name is "Cobra Force Tactical" LOL... made by Tristar (a Turkish manufacturer).

That's a pretty hardcore name lol! I did some research afterwards, and it seems other owners aren't too fond of the spring either, especially at the range when they have to keep the action open for the RO to verify empty chambers. I also read about people modifying the mag tube to hold extra rounds, which has caught my interest. I might just swing by and see if they still have it, though for the price the Maverick is about $30 less on sale.
