New survival fiction
I'm about a third of the way through "Slow Apocalypse" by John Varley. A tailored bacteria turns underground crude oil reserves solid and as a side effect, releases hydrogen gas and causes massive explosions. A fun read regarding the decline and fall of Los Angeles. The author must be an Angelino as he has intimate knowledge of the L.A. area. I recommend it. I got it through my city library.
