Default I need an engraver (SoCal) - references please?

I had a buddy who just died at age 47 of lung cancer, he was the one true friend of mine from high school days that I stayed in touch with. He was my shooting pal... he left me his prized S&W model 41 .22 and he left the others to his boys. Anyhoo... In his remembrance I would like to get it and two others engraved in his memory. I need a SoCal connection, preferably in the Inland Empire area that can do a nice job and I figured the best place to ask was here.

So where do I take it to get it engraved? Thank you in advance for your help and suggestions. Please just post to this thread or feel free to PM me.

Thank you,
Lance

Sorry about your buddy.
Check out this place. I haven't personally used them, but a buddy of mine recommended them to me.

That is a nice gesture - but -- consider the loss of any future collector value to the boys inherited weapons ---

I'd like to think he raised his children in such a way that selling the pistols their dad left them isn't even a remote possibility. A run of the mill S&W 1911 isn't going to ever bring enough "collector value" to sell the memory of their dad.

I love the way you said that he didn't raise his boys to consider selling his memory. I wish I could advise you on an engraver, sounds like your looking for an artist not a Cnc. I wish you the best.

That's what I'm after. Thank you! Chatsworth is quite a ways from me so I might ask him if he knows someone a little closer. But if he doesn't then Chatsworth it is. I'll give him a call asap.

Yes... If it's too incredibly expensive I considered the CNC thing but I'd prefer hand engraving. I could be wrong about the boys, who knows... they might decide to sell dad's gun for a bag of weed. But I think the engraving would certainly help deter that idea.

I'm hoping I can get together with the boys and shoot once a year or so. I miss my buddy, 47 is way too young.
