Default Saiga bullet guide. Steak? Tack?

Hello everyone. i had this idea that i could buy the dinzag bullet guide for the saiga 7.62x39, Drill and tap the trunnion, and when everything checks out, i either steak the bullet guide to the head of the screw (simmilar to the gas key on an AR platform) or put a tack weld between the head of the screw and the guide to keep the screw from backing out. The reason is because i hate the idea of locktite in an ak. and this particular one is for a high up competition shooter and i would hate to have him send it back in the future for a loose bullet guide. last resort i could always remove the barrel and trunnion from the receiver and rivet the bullet guide which i have done in the past to my own firearms.

Tell me what you think

Green loctite will be fine. I've done dozens with my own bullet guide made out of a section of 1" iron pipe, none has ever come back. The bullet *barely* touches the bullet guide on the way out of the mag, there is hardly any friction.

Do you think putting a tack in between the screw and the guide would work tho?

Yeah you could tack it, might be a pita if you get some nasty looking contamination from oil or the park or paint mixed in.

Red locktite usually is fine though but I havent run a whole lot of rounds to say for sure.

Loctite should be just fine. If you really wanna get psycho you could stake it. You don't want to do any welding that close to the locking lugs.

if i put the welder on the right setting i would only penetrate the bullet guide/screw and no farther. the locking lugs are Very far away from the small tack i would put in between the screw head and the guide. i would never even think about putting a welder to the trunnion directly. that steel is just soooo much harder than anything i have worked with, doubt i could get good results with that and the softer steel of the bullet guide staying together
