Default Lowest mount red dot.

I am looking for a really low mount red dot or reflex sight for my Saiga 12 with a quad rail forearm. I needs to be low because my saiga is currently unconverted and with a cheek well on the stock, nothing I have works.

I have tried a couple Aimpoint clones on cantilever mounts and a strikefire and none are low enough. I also tried my eotech and aimpoint M4.

Suggestions for a low mounting RDS or reflex sight that can handle the 12 gauge recoil?

Burris makes a small red dot that is designed for shotguns. In your case a regular Fastfire might be what you're looking for.

Not sure on you set up but you should check Ultimak and MI mounts.
This dot allows for CW in most low set ups. Not sure if it would work for you.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I already had the rail and am looking at not buying any more rails for it until I get around to converting it. I did look at the ultimak website and will look at the MI mounts as well.

the RDS isn't what will make it low - the mount and rail are what will get you low...

The lowest possible is using Texas Weapons Systems Dogleg rail (it's very stout, completely solid, holds zero without issue).

Here is a Strikefire on Aimpoint QRP - same that comes with the Pro

Bushnell Zoom Dot on a LaRue RasII (this is the highest mount I have - too high for Saiga)

Strikefire on a Burris XTR QD Med (sits lower than it looks - actually a little lower than the Aimpoint QRP)

and a Vortex Sparc on an A.R.M.S #31 (this is actually the lowest mount possible that I know of - but only works with Spark and Aimpoint T1, so you're limited in it's use)

Here it is on a quad rail (which I hate and got rid of, horrible in comparison to TWS Dogleg rail):

for reference, here it is on the TWS

the Spark is currently on a 12 gauge shotgun, so I know it handles heavy recoil... the others (including a Burris XTS135) are all on AR & AK, so I can't be positive they hold up under recoil - but for a shotgun, the others are too big (imo)... so the Spark on an ARMS #31 would be a good choice for you.

Just my .02

^^^ come to think of it, I'm not positive the TWS fits a Saiga12... is the receiver different?

If not, I guess you're stuck with the quad rail (or side rail) which are pretty high - but the mounts I posted should get you as low as possible...

The lowest dot mount combo I found was an aim point c3

Check out the bushnell TRS25. It's a good mini red dot for less than a hundred bucks. If you have the extra money get a aimpoint H1 or T1.

It came from aimpoint. I don't know if they make it, or have it made but you can find it on their website.
