Default Ends today near BF prices on 40'' Craftsman QuietGlide Tool Chest

http://www.craftsman.com/shc/s/nb_10...tName=Redirect

I've been eyeing the 40'' wide Quiet Glide Tool Chest and was contemplating waiting in line on Black Friday for the combo for $699.

http://slickdeals.net/blackfriday/de...m/599#ad-scans

Found out today its on special with Craftsman club and ended up being $750. I will gladly pay $51 extra so that I don't have to deal with BF BS.

Heads up to anyone looking for a good quality chest. Its no Snap On/Mac/Kennedy but for a light home use its more than enough.

Is quietglide ball bearing?
Either way that's too much imho. For that much you can get more box at Costco. Just wait and watch. I got the torin 42" for under $400, the stainless ones are a couple hundred more.
Fyi I was in the market to get a lower for an existing craftsman 26" when I realized for abour $100 more I could get a much bigger top and bottom box.
Because it's Costco you have to be patient if they don't have something you like right now.

Sorry not Quiet Glide. Its Griplatch which is ball bearing

A lot of things Im seeing today are at Blackfriday prices. Like their 309 piece tool set.

I'll check out the Torin.

You're right, even at 50% off and $750 it feels overpriced.

The $300 Husky regular price 27" box feels sturdier

*EDIT*
V8 did you edit the OP to change the size?? I could swear you were talking about a 26" set yesterday!! $750 for decent 40" with top, bottom and middle is not a bad deal.

I just had a look at the costco webpage and they don't seem to have any great deals right now. Of course what you can find at your local costco is not always on the website. The Torin I got, for example, was priced around $699 online, but was $549 in store, I watched it for a couple months and when it went on clearance for $399 (with Costco look for a * next to the price to know the item is discontinued and or on clearance) I jumped. For a 42" top and bottom box, I couldn't pass it up.
If you can't wait this doesn't look bad:

The slickdeals links don't work (maybe just me?), so you'll have to search the items on sears, but bigger boxes for less $, yet still ball bearing.

Thanks to your post it got me searching and found out the Harbor Freight 44'' box at $369 that is far superior.

I didn't change the size btw. It is a 40'' Griplatch top and bottom for $800 out the door. Trust me though, its super flimsy compared to the Harbor Freight one. Craftsman brand means nothing these days.

If you are in socal, I still have the combo at Sears will call ( in OC, Just haven't picked it up yet). You can have it for what I paid for it. It goes on sale for $700 on Black Friday if you want to brave the crowds. In 2 weeks it will cancel itself (they called me)

42'' at $400 is a sweet deal. I'd imagine very comparable or even better quality than the crapsman.

I was already unimpressed with their ''Premium ball bearing'' boxes. Their basic ones are a joke. I figure this is the last tool box I'll buy for a long time and despite being a HF box, it is very solid. I recommend you visit each store and check them out to see for yourself.
