Default WTT; Arisaka

I dont know much about it, I was told it was a Japanesse Arisaka, dont know what type. It seems complete, but not in great cond. looking to trade for ??? pistol, rifle, shotgun, whatever. Located in north Orange County, might ship.

i would be interested in it if it is a type 99. can you see on the top of the receiver. that is the model number.

top of the reciever is smooth without anything on it. The only numbers are on the left side of the reciever, they are 11619.

What you have is a school training rifle. It can NOT fire live rounds.

Well, most school rifles were either blank firing or non firing models made from light weight pot metal. They were used to teach children manual of arms drills including bayonet combat. By the time they graduated high school, they would have completed basic military training.

There were a few "trusted schools" that received actual Type 38 rifles and carbines that were too old for military duty. Those are far and few inbetween, especially the T38 carbines with school markings. Tojo and his buddies were wary of any young upstarts who would use those rifles against them in a coup d'état.
