Default FNG Precision Coatings in Camarillo

As many of you are aware, a lot of the Glock high-speed upgraders are in this area; Salient, Agency, Zev, Taran. Obviously, there has to be someone doing the coatings and detail work on these machines.

So, I was in Vons shopping for food for the family, wearing a 2a-ish related shirt. A super friendly person walked up, complements the shirt, introduces himself, and just talks to me. About life. It was cool as ****. A cool guy. I was a Marine, he was a Seabee. We were both disabled Vets. On parting, he gave me his card that said he was the owner of FNG Precision Coatings. He told me if I knew Vets who needed jobs to let him know, as he did his best to keep his eyes out for opportunities. Salt of the earth, no ****.

Fast forward to a week later, I'm waiting for my coffee at the Starbucks Kiosk at the same Von's. At the magazine rack, i pick up a gun rag and inside is a custom AR. The caption? "Cerakote expertly applied by FNG Precision in Camarillo Ca, the best we have ever seen". Talk about a weird coincidence.

A week later, I am talking to my friend Karlton at Camarillo Gun Store, who I trust implicitly. His opinion? "Sawyer is one of the top 10 Cerakote artist in the Untied States". I was sold.

I took my new G43 there today. In 90 seconds I was seated in front of a computer looking at samples, getting professional advice, and seeing a TON of samples of past work. Sawyer stripped my slide in the blink of an eye, bagged and tagged the parts, and briefed me on the process. Every step of it I was dialed in and a part to make sure I was getting what I wanted, which is way different than if I would have just mailed it off.

As the invoice was being prepared, I was ready for the sticker shock. I knew with this level of detail and service it was going to hurt. Full disassembly of a slide, 2 magazines, multi-cam cerakote of the slide and two baseplates, plus reassembly. I had better call the bank. Not at all. If you are a Vet or LEO? You walk away feeling guilty. If you are a normal joe? Yup, still guilty. They seem to feel the quality of the work will lead to enough customers that the price point can stay low enough for now that they can count on throughput to counter the price point. I hope it works, because the product is probably worth 30% more than they charge, and the turnaround time is hours/days not weeks.

Yeah, you can drop in the morning, and pick up in the evening if you plan it. No ****.

They are on instagram and Facebook, but best of all, they have a physical place you can walk into, and they smile and say "hi" if you do. I suggest you try it.

Thanks OP for posting, I'll check them out. Even better to support a Vet owned business!

I just dropped off a g19 and g34 yesterday for them to do their magic. Was very impressed with their setup and professionalism.

I'm still away on a business trip, but they were kind enough to send me a photo of my toys. I am pretty damn happy.

He is indeed. Seen him in Vons more than the gun store or his shop.

That's where I met him. Can't complain too much. Prices and quality are spot on, customer service is great, hires Vets....

Don't know about the Coors Light thing. Jury is still out on that one.

Anyways, finished product is in my hand. Pretty stoked.
