Default Misleading advertisement involving Leupolds Mk 4 mildot sights

Hey all.

I am not saying that Leupold is overtly doing what the title says. It merely seems that way to me, so maybe someone can help me out.

When I was researching a mil-dot sight for hunting, I came across something odd. The website pic of the Mk 4 mil-dot cross-hair, does not match the actual product.

Here is what the Leupold website shows, for a Mark 4 LR/T 8.5-25x50mm (30mm) M1

Here is a pic of what it actually looks like.

This is the same with the Mark 4 LR/T 4.5-14x50mm (30mm) M1 Illum. Ret.

Can someone please tell me what is going on? Why doesn't the graphic match the real thing?

If they were to be of two different sights, one would definitely have different measurements than the other.

Thank you for your time.

I'm guessing the first picture was drawn by the art/advertising department and didnt bother getting the dimensions correct. But if your familiar with the dimentions of mil dots, its is obvious the first picture is not correct. The dots are .2 mil and the spaces between them are .8 That first picture shows the spaces pretty much the same size as the dots
