Default Weaponlight duty holster

Hello, I was curious if anyone knew of a leather duty holster for the M&P series with a TLR 1 attached, which had a simple button thumb break rather than level III retention. Any info would help, thanks

The thumb snap w/tac light is hard to find... And if you do find one, you will pay a premium. The Safariland 6280 is a good holster and the hood is very secure, and quick with minimal practice.

I really love the Serpa holsters, but after carrying a p226 with the xiphos light, I went back to the Safariland with my new department.

The xiphos just has durability issues... The cap would always come off and the tension bar bent on me during a foot pursuit. I came out of the holster to pie the corner, then reholstered... When I came back out, and arrested the perp at GP, the light came off, and now I had a weapon that would not fully secure in my holster.

Next thing you know, I had 10-15 people come out of the woodwork while escorting her to the car. Thankfully, they were cool with it, but generally, they hate cops.

Then I watched a partner's gun get stuck in a serpa from sand... Not a good feeling.

A bit off topic, but you have options out there.

I will second a safariland 6280. Carried my glock w/ m6 and now my S&W M&P 40 with tlr. great retention and fast draw.

Safariland is the gold standard. ALS system is easy to learn and catch onto quickly.

I use the Safariland because of mounting a Surefire light on my duty weapon. It's a superior light. However, we are issued the Serpa holster and we are constantly in the brush/sand/dirt. It still works as designed. If Blackhawk! made a holster model that accepted the surefire light then I would get it with confidence through experience but until then I will use the Safariland. It's a lil slower to draw but can be mastered with practice.

The ALS 6360 holsters are way better than the 6280 series IMO. 6280 is just a big bucket. 6360 has real retention.
