Default NOVEMBER Ventura County MEET @ Island View Enterprises - NOVEMBER 30th 6PM

When: Friday, November 30th at 6:00pm. (Range closes at 8:00pm)

Fee is $5.00 for the day. IVE is also providing access to their members lounge so we can hang out (members lounge is in the back of the building on the right).

Ammo restrictions: No steel jacketed bullets (their bullet trap is steel and those could damage it) so brass cased only. Also, no black powder

What calibers can we shoot? up to 50BMG.

Check out thier sales area while you're there ... I always do. And end up wanting to buy something. It's only a matter of time before I break down and just buy what I've been wanting

Remember that we are representing the CalGuns community so please treat their facility with respect.

You're ok bringing guest. Just let us know on this thread how many it will be. So we can give them an idea of how many lanes to reserve for us. For example, you +1.

Sign me up, I'll bring the Mossberg, considering I don't have much else to shoot.

Since you brought your N0.1 MKIII last time, I can bring a 1916 ERA (Remington/Eddystone) Pattern 14 you can play with.

Thanks. .303 British has to be my favorite cartridge, but I don't yet reload.

Just a quick note; On that CalGuns.net promotion poster in the window (see 1st post), it shows an "ad" for the "CalGuns Shooting Sports Association"... Sounds interesting and having never seen that before, I decide to check it out.

Unfortunately "CGSSA.org" is not the website for the "CalGuns Shooting Sports Association", instead it is the website for the "Catholic Grade School Athletic Association".

Also a Google search shows no website for "CalGuns Shooting Sports Association", just a couple of forum posts.

TacticalPlinker,

Currently, the monthly shoots, gun show booths, etc. are run by CALGUNS.NET Community Chapters (C3). CGSSA will be an official non profit organization (C3) and will be a separate entity from CALGUNS.NET. CGSSA will be fully associated with CalGuns, CalGuns will support CGSSA and CGSSA will support CalGuns.

Hope this clears it up for you.

Regards,

RedMonkey

I am very much a newbie. I joined Calguns.net recently after John at IVE recommended checking it out. I am trying to decide which hand gun is right for me (self-defense). I would like to ck out C3 Meet on 11/30. My nephew who is an avid gun enthusiast will also attend as my guest.

IVE has many guns available for rent and I encourage you to rent a variety in your price range. Stick around and strike up a conversation with some other calgunners.

I try to be as generous as possible by asking others if they'd like to shoot a magazine out of my guns just to experience something new. I don't want to see rentals go down during calgun meets but I would certainly like to see a "gunshare" thing going on where we openly lend our guns to others while at the range to try new stuff.

If you could get me set up with one, I would be happy as a clam. I'll bring a brick of .22 to shoot.

I spoke with Jacob this morning from IslandView and he mentioned it to me. I'll try to make it definitely.
Hopefully someone will bring a MSAR or Aug. I'd like to try one before buying one for myself...

I slept in and strolled in at 10am. Only about 40% capacity with no wait times. It was just starting to get crowded but not yet full when I left at noon.

Early bird gets the worm I suppose?

Looks like my Wife and I wont be able to make it this time.
My 10 year old Nephew is performing in a play for his school that night and it wouldn't be right if Uncle Goex wasn't there!
The last shoot was a lot of fun. Perhaps the next month we can make it.
