92FS, Glock 26, CZ75B, Sig P239, Browning High power.

I've only shot the first 2 in this list but in my fantasy world the other 3 would round out the top 5

My personal favorites are

(in no particular order)

1. Glock 19- what more is there to say? Glock has been proven by law enforcement around the world and deserves props for being a innovator in the handgun industry.

2. TIE for CZ p 01 and CZ sp-01 The steel frame on these beauty's and the way they fit in my hand makes this pretty much my favorite pistol.

3.Browning high power - John Browning's second gift to the world.

4.HK USP- Because Im part German and this gun feels right. Also I am trying to only include guns I have shot.

5.Beretta M9 because it was my first hand gun to shoot and will always have a soft spot in my heart even though it may be somewhat outdated compared to the PX Storm.

The Luger started the whole 9mm thing.

The hi-power needs to be in this list, as it is the classic.

The Sig P226 and the Beretta 92 are used by the US military.

The Glock 17 started the whole polymer striker-fired gun thing.

1. Luger P-08. The original 9mm Parabellum.
2. Browning High Power
3. Beretta 92
4. CZ-75 and derivatives
5. Glock 17 - only 5th place because it costs more than you make in a month.

I can only come up with four

Glock 19
Best features overall for a defensive pistol: Compact, reliable, accurate, robust, high mag capacity

Browning Hi-Power
One of the most ergonomic grips I ever had in my hand, advanced design for its time and very visually appealing.

HK P7 M13
Innovative design (yeah, I know - pricey and rare... nonetheless...), compact, easy to control and ambidextrous control when hardly anyone else was even thinking about those.

Sig P210
The "Swiss watch" approach translated into crafting a handgun....'nuff said

Hi Point C9, Intratec Tec-9, Jennings 9...

Ok I can't even go on joking XD lol (fun fact, of those listed above, the hi point is least-likely to explode in the user's face)

Glock 17, Sig P226, Glock 26(ccw), Glock 19 and Glock 17 again lol

BUT there are so many good ones

I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to use a browning high power or
a betters 92fs or one of the many well designed 9s

Nice.. always wanted to try a P220 in 9mm. Since we live in CA anyways, single-stacks have become far more attractive to me.

Always wanted to try the P210, but since I never have.. can't really rank. Of the 9mms I've owned/handled though:

9mm 1911
G17/34
CZ 75 SA
SP2022
P226

Yea.. I ranked SP2022 higher than P226 and I owned 3 P226s. The SP2022 just shot and handled better for me. Maybe I should really try a P228 one of these days.

Glock and 9mm 1911 are interchangeable depending on POI. If I had to have just 1 all-purpose gun.. no doubt about it, it'd be the Glock... but the 9mm 1911 is just so much more fun to shoot and feels like I'm cheating when I shoot mine.

I would have put the M&P on the list too (probably in 3rd or 4th) if I actually owned or tested it extensively. I've only had a few chances to shoot em.

Honorable mentions go to H&K USP and Walther P99.

1. BHP the original wonder 9
2. M&P the future of wonder 9
3. Glock - started the age of I can shoot 50k rounds and never clean my gun
4. Sig P210/ S&W model 39
5. CZ - Just so no one has a heart attack or throws a huge BF.

Ruger Blackhawk with 9 mm cylinder; so much fun! (I call it a revolving pistol).
SIG P229 DAK: Just works!
SIG P225/P6 Single Stack; slim so I can reach the decocker.
SA EMP: 1911, with all the safeties.
Glock 17: There is a reason that all the tactical classes loan these out to start.

Ubber simplicity results in ultra-reliability. So Glocks top my list.

1. Glock 17 - Full size grip makes it more fun to shoot. So when concealment is not an issue I prefer the Glock 17.
2. Glock 26 - Compact size makes for ease of concealability, so if I have to hide it I prefer the Glock 26.
3. Glock 19 - The best and the worst of the above, puts this in third place - after all it is still a Glock.
4. Hi-Power - Based on John Browings work, the Hi-Power is reliable, and easy to shoot. If it had a better trigger, better safety, and was lighter it would top my list. When you factor in how old the design is, it is one heck of an impressive firearm.
5. Springfield EMP - It's hard not to love the 1911. This one comes in an easy to conceal package, is 9mm and is readily available.

If I had trigger time on the HK P7 it would probably be my #5 choice, but for all I know it's hype. It has never been a huge priority for me to find out. I'm happy with the guns I have.
