Default AK47 mags

Why the hell they so expensive now? AK47 and 74 30rd mags for $20+???
Seriously, AK mags cost more than AR15 mags? Is there a shortage I dont know about?

I bought new E. German and Bulgarian mags from ClassicArms (back in the late 90s) for $1 a piece!

Yep, and I don't like the plastic AK mags at all. Both the Tapco and ProMags needed filing and tweaking before they'd even insert & lock in my AKS.
Nothing like a nice OEM metal mag...

Have you looked here?

I don't need any AK mags. I have a lot.
And I was referring to OEM European/ Chicom mags.
Not the US made plastic. $20+ for a used chicom/polish mag.
Damn!

There was a shortage of AK74 magazines for the last couple months, I saw some sites selling surplus ones for 80 plus. Another lot must have been imported because the prices dropped like a month ago.

Generally OEM AK mags are vastly superior in quality than AR mags. 7.62 AKs are out of production in many countries that once made them. Most AK mags made now are plastic not steel like the older ones. Importation gets harder & costlier every year. The days of getting big piles of old guns & stuff cheap from other countries is long gone. Many exporting countries have increased their export costs & restrictions. It's getting harder to find goodies that have been missed since the 1990s.

Instead of starting a new thread, can AK magazines can be used in M4/M16/AR mag pouches? I personally have some USGI triple mag single pouches.

Does CDNN sell rebuilds to CA? I didn't see any mention of it on their website.

Anybody know who sells those smooth bodied Bulgarian mags in rebuild kits? Riflegear has some but they are $25. Wish I could get some of those from CDNN for $13 and block them myself.

I'm looking for the smooth polymer rebuilds, not the steel ribbed, and 44Mag doesn't carry them.
