G means it was put aside for the Romanian National Guard (equiv). Asthetically, the difference would be a black strip on the buttstock which does come off and a scribed letter G on the rear sight block. Functionally, it is the same as the military issue. Some folks do not like the G, so they get the military issue which does not have the G on the sight.

Look at post 3, and you will see a Romy G in the top pic.

Mr. Wolf.... I know my name is in there as waiting for saturday but I hadnt thought that out very well.... I cant take just one spot, i needed two in order to swap to saturday... i dont want to take just one spot up so if LD1988 is the first in line for it then fill appropriately.

I have a polish 80% rec from ak builder and a Romanian parts kits with US chrome lined barrel. Waiting on other 922r parts but will be here soon. Please let me know if there will be space on sun and also will need the prior headspacing day. Thanks!
Looking forward to one of these BPs.

Dont mean to hijack but I wanna ask, any Pros and cons or 7.62 or 5.45? I'm leaning towards 7.62 because it appears 7.62 seems to be more readily avilable and seems to have no-steel bullet options?

I'm building a AK74 out of a Bulgarian kit!
I think both are great platforms but I'm building a 74 because of the cost of 5.45 surplus, 1080 for $160!

I have an AK74 5.45 x 39 Fixed Receiver flat (B2-41) that I don't need. If you are building one please PM me. I'll sell for less than you can buy from AK-Builder where I got it.

SOLD!

Hi Mr. Lonewolf, if there is space on the sun. I now have a friend who has a kit and would like to join us. Understand that it's standby. But if you can only fit one of us. He is not as excited as I am and he will wait for the next BP. Anyhow thanks for the opportunity!

Yup.

Not a problem, We can correctly install optic rails at the BP.

PS. Just make sure yours is not made out of aluminum. I hate to see that stuff crack at the hydraulic press so, I don't accept that kind of rails at the BPs anymore.

It seems to go on under the FCG/Rear trunnion rivets. Not an expert on AKs so dont hold me to that! Either way, seems like its something that should be done during build, not retrofitted later.

EDIT: Yes, these do need to be installed UNDER your trunnion/FCG rivets. ak-builder has them, just search scope mount. They have them specifically for Romys and also 74's. In steel.

So I have a question regarding the akbuilder flats. They list 2 options on the website: Those WITH alignment holes and those WITHOUT. The ones without the alignment holes are for the newer jigs, and the alignment hole ones are for "outdated" jigs.

Does it matter which one I bought? I got the without holes one and want to make sure thats ok while I have time to replace it.

Any idea if there is somewhere nearby where we can get the selector markings engraved such as 1/∞, AB/EA etc?
