Exclamation DEFENDING YOUR CASTLE- Home Defense/Low Light Firearms Course- Dec 15th- Morgan Hill

Okay everybody... We're finally doing it again! We're announcing another Defending Your Castle class to be held on Saturday December 15th. This is the Legal aspects, Ballistic considerations, clearing doorways, hallways, rooms, and low light shooting class you've been waiting for. You will get the hard, ugly truth about lethal encounters in the home.

We will discuss the facts vs. myths of the laws regarding defending your castle. We TEACH these laws to Police Officers, so we know what we're talking about. We will shoot a multitude of rounds through water and sheetrock panels- giving you an idea of the penetration issues with various rounds, calibers, rifle/pistol/shotgun. We will talk about, demo, and train the angles of doorways, hallways, and rooms. We will work on using barricades for cover and firing from those positions. We will culminate with training on low light flashlight techniques. You can't get this type of class anywhere else from full time Law Enforcement.

**A Level 1 Course from us or a reputable instructor we can verify is required prior to attending. You may only bring the weapon system that you've taken a Level 1 Course with. Please email us with questions about prerequisites.**

This class will run from 12:00 noon to 9:00 PM. We will train for 8 full hours with an hour for dinner.

You will need 200 rounds of Carbine or Pistol ammo, or if using a shotgun, you need 75 rounds of birdshot and 50- "00 Buck. Tuition is $200 for a 9 hour day.

Please go to Eventbrite.com to register for the event and pay the tuition.. http://dychomedefensecourse-eorg.eventbrite.com/#
You can ALWAYS email us with questions or concerns....

Also check us out on Yelp.com to see reviews:

Thanks guys, Train Hard.

If you have any concerns or questions about home defense, not just the shooting aspect but more importantly the legal and practical concerns involved in California (or anywhere for that matter) you NEED to take this class. While you will be shooting, the information presented on the non-shooting aspects is the real value of this class.

I took this class last June and it was an amazing amount of information to absorb. My advice is bring what you really plan on using if a home defense situation should/could arise to get the most out of it.

The low light/night shoot portion is also something a lot of us as civilians don't/can't get to do and most likely the situation we will probably need to shoot in if we ever need to defend our castles. You will really understand how the value of having a good light (handheld or weapon) is important in your home defense toolbox.

This is not a learn to shoot class, you should as TTA says already have the fundamentals down having taken one of their Level I classes. This is a mindset and tactics class to help you properly employ your chosen HD weapon.

If you have the chance to take this, definetly look into it. Dave, Bob and Pat will give you the information you need, dispelling common rumors and myths while giving you the tools to formulate your own home defense plan.

I am surely interesting in this course, and it is right after my semester.
Haven't decide if I want to train with a shotgun or a handgun yet..

If you've taken a Level I course in each from TTA and plan on using both as part of your home defense planning then bring both and switch it up.

Otherwise I would just bring what you would really plan to use if a HD situation occurred.

.223 carbine is my primary choice of fight weapon
9mm is the most likely weapon I could use (since I carry it at home and having one on night stand)
Shotgun is the one I trained the least with

My wife and I are interested in attending the DYC class as my early Christmas present . How large is the class? Will there be a shoothouse? We have both attended a handgun training class from another school. I suppose the course certificate is what you need to see? List of recommended equipment? Thanks!

Yes Beanz2, we try to cap the class at 16. We are at 13 right now. We don't have a full shoothouse per se, but we use simulated doorways and mannequins/steel targets with live fire and include a low light portion that we shoot live fire also... We teach about the angles, wedging, use of cover...etc.

Here's the link to eventbrite.com to see more details of the event. You can also register and pay for the class here...
http://dychomedefensecourse-es2.eventbrite.com/?rank=1

Thanks, and you can email me if you have any more questions at TacticalTrainingAssociates@gmail.com

OK, we're on board

Looking forward to the class.

And I found (at least part of) a list of required equipment on the Eventbrite page:
"If you bring a Carbine or Pistol, 200 rounds of quality ammunition will be plenty. You will need at least 2 magazines for said pistol or carbine, but more are always better. If you will run a Shotgun, you will need 75 rounds of birdshot, and 50 rounds of Buck. You will NEED a light. We will be shooting in the dark. You must bring either a handheld or weapon mounted light, however you will run it at home. We will cover low light techniques, so even with a weapon mounted light, a handheld tac light is still a good idea to train with."
