Default 6.5 Grendel Build

Been gathering parts for this thing for the past couple month, should be finished this next week or so. Finally got the barrel. It's a Satern chambered in 6.5 grendel not .264LBC, barrel is a 24". I think later on, I'm going to chop 2"-4" off and flute the rest of the barrel. Going to put a 15" rail and either a UBR or a PRS

Looking good so far.

You gotta give us a range report when you are done.

Thanks man, I'm getting paid today and will be ordering my stock.
I'm still waiting for a few parts from RRA: barrel nut, dust cover, forward assist, buffer, spring.

Bolt carrier is a FA BCM

Your build is looking good. I am interested in starting a Grendel build so I really look forward for a range report. How long was the wait on the Barrel?

Well I didn't want to wait and since Satern no longer makes their barrels in 6.5 I went ahead and got a used barrel with 400 rounds down it
Satern makes their barrels in .264 LBC now, there's only a few manufactures sho still make true Grendel barrels due to copyrights or patents whatever theyre called.

I was going to build but I took your route and bought used. I was told a 9 month wait for a barrel. I just picked up a Grendel Upper from a fellow Calgunner. Where are you planning to shoot it and what kind of glass are you thinking of getting?

There's a range out in north east county that's the guys from ares armor invited me too. It's a 1k range and I heard them say that they can even bump a few hundred more if they move back.

I'm not really sure about optics but I'm thinking no further magnification than 14x

I hope you have one of Saterns cut rifled barrels and it doesn't need to have the chamber touched up. I have a 20" cut rifled barrel from them and I had to send it back because of issues chambering any ammo. I made sure my brass was resized to minimum specs and it would still give me issues. Anyway after getting it back all I can say is it shoots great now. I am still working up loads but I do have this picture of my crappy shooting skills. What can I say but it was close to 90 degrees with light winds maybe gusting to 12 mph. This was 5 shots at 100 yards.

Similar to my build and I love it. You have a better barrel so I know you will love it also. I should have taken a picture but my last 4 shots were touching when I sighted the thing in using Hornady 123 grain amax

That's exactly what it is. Only difference is the actuall boot face and barrel!
The AR platform is a Lego, you can chamber it in over 50 calibers

Really? Didn't know that. Who are those makers (if you know).

I was hoping I could just call somebody like W.O.A. or W.O.P. and order one.
