Can we get any kind of time line for when they will be "caught" up and have our group buy in hand?

I'm a little confused, I thought this buy was rolling forward once the first one concluded. First GB still is waiting for frames to deliver. Is there a firm timeline we need to send you payment by?

Thanks!

Im hoping two weeks but like i said ealier, 1 week after the first buy ends i am not accepting anymore requests for frames and will only wait for payment. My goal is to pay ares by the first week of december and have frames in hand that week to ship by the end of the second. Christmas presents early!

I have officially set date for close- november 30. That gives us two weeks to request more orders. After that i will not take new requests. I made this decision so we have a set date in mind. If you are not able to pay the TAX in time if you already sent payment, i will purchase frames with tax out of my pocket and hold frames until tax is paid. I wouldnt want such a stupid hangup to keep calgunners from this. I am a strong believer in the 3% that we make up owning our own homemade firearms. Some calgunners also contacted me stating that they would not be able to join this group buy in time before soke time late next month. I am going to TRY and purchase some extras without the wife knowing to help those out. All i will be asking for is 10 bucks extra after tax and shipping if necessary. Only because it's coming out of my credit card.

Jonathan,

Just a suggestion: Go update the first post with all the info that has come in since (like price w/tax, your address &payment info, link to parts thread) to hopefully save you some PMs.

The only photos I have seen is the "crappy cell phone pics" of the final prototype. Those did not have any of the holes drilled for plunger tube, extractor retaining pin, sear/disconnector pin, hammer pin, or thumb safety post.

On the web it says only holes needing drilled are the two rear pin holes. Which holes are predrilled on the final product?

I kinda wish ares would post actual photos of the completed product online.

But what I really want to know is what size drill and reamers I will need to finish up my tooling kit.

Did you see the part about them scrapping everything and not being approved for their assumed design, then going back to the drawing board months after everyone told them they can't do it the way they originally thought they could?

Nobody knows what they are currently selling, since it keeps changing. An up to date list of what operations are left out, and photos along with the BATFE letter they are using would be beneficial to EVERYONE involved or on the fence. Its a major ballache getting answers out of the first group buy since the organizer is MIA half the time or simply doesn't reply to direct questions.

Yes did you see my post that said the only photos are the "crappy cell phone" pics of the final PROTOTYPE. Not the final product. Again in those photos there are lots of holes that are not drilled that they say on the website that they will be complete.

On the website it says that all that needs done are the barrel seat cut, side rails cut, and TWO rear pin holes drilled.

However on the rear of the 1911 there are 3 holes.

Taking the information from the website vs those prototype photos, I would assume that they would be drilling an countersinking (on the inside of the frame) the holes for the plunger tube. Also drilling the hole for the extractor retaining pin.

And one of the following holes: sear/disconnector, hammer, thumb safety.

Leaving us to drill two of those 3. Each of them being of different diameters.

I just want to know which of the 3 holes they are going to drill and which 2 I will need to do.

Posting from IPhone and can't figure out how to edit:

On the prototype they did not drill the Ejector retaining pin. Not extractor as I wrote above.
