Default MP34 variation question.

I just saw this on GB, and it seems like an unusual version of the MP34, which was built in 1942. A very fine sample indeed and too bad it is made into display now, but the design is a bit different than what I have seen so far in MP34.

Overall look:

The knob underneath the very clear 1942 mark along with the stamp (I think its is a german stamp of the Wehrmacht before WW2, but if someone can educate me on this stamp it would be cool). But back to the knob, I dont know what it is, but I know it is unusual

Another strange feature seems to be a keyhole slot near the back. I dont see that on my Steyr MP34 version, which is weird. I'd like to know more about this keyhole slot too.

The Steyr symbol seems to be of an older version too. I have seen the big diamond shaped marking of the Steyr Solothurn, but I have not seen this. This is quite unusual for me.

Under the waffenamts in this picture is a symbol that looks like a bulls eye. What type of symbol is that one?

I have found out that is a portugese mark of the 1942. They are contract gun. What about the knob and key hole, anyone got an idea?
