Default Mossberg 930 stock options

Are all the 930's the same in regards to stock fit?..I have ordered the JM Pro Series and i want a pistol grip on it. Will any of the aftermarket stocks work?..Thanks

The pistol grip stock from Mesa Tactical looks very good, but not out yet.

I've tried it on an M1 Super 90 and like it very much.

I have the jm pro 24" and I swapped out my standard stock with the choate pistol grip. I'm more comfortable using the pistol grip when I'm doing a load 2 reloads than the standard stock.

All the 930's are pretty much the same. You only have the standard stock or the choate stock. But I'm patiently wait for the mesa tactical urbino stock to come out.

here's mine with the choate pistol grip, my load 2 vest, trulock choke and extended nordic end cap....

Due to configuration INSIDE the stock of the 930, you're limited at this time to the standard Mossie stock that comes with the 930 or the Choate Pistol Grip stock, which runs about $75.

Mesa Tactical has an Urbino Model for the 930 in prototype, but no word on a production/release date. I know LAPD has the new stock on a test run,

I put the Choate on my SPX and am very pleased with it.

I don't like the pistol grip stock on the 930 because of the safety placement.

Yup. Tang safety + pistol grip = bad ergos.

And my fingers are way too used to the tang safety to switch now.

Well, hopefully if that Urbino does come out, they'll eventually release the "non-pistol" grip version eventually. But I'm not holding my breath. Actually I'm waiting on their stock to come out before I buy one anyway, so I'm keeping an eye on it.

They have a non pistol grip Mesa Tactical stock in production/testing right now.

Check their forums, I think the LAPD is testing them right now.

Yeah, that's what i was alluding to, but I think that's for the Benelli, correct? They had to make some modifications to the 930 and for the 930 stock, so i don't think it's the same, is it? In any case, THAT's the stock I want, not a fan of pistol grips, but I do like the adjustability (cheek rest, etc) on the Urbino.

choate is a great pistol-grip buttstock. i have it on my 1300 defender and love it! also love the mossy tang safety but let's face it, real safety's on your hand guys, and it's not that hard to swing your thumb up there. you could probably even keep a finger or two on the grip/trigger guard. nothing wrong with normal stocks but after having the pistol grip stock, i'd never switch back. good luck and enjoy that 930. i may buy one eventually but i'll never get rid of my defender.

I'm waiting for the Mesa Tactical stock that is a standard grip like what came original. Sadly it might be quiet a ways off. In the mean time I'm pondering shortening my existing stock a bit. There are a few write ups on the net on how to take about an inch off the thing, and this can be done with either the pistol grip, or regular stock. This thing has too long a LOP stock for me and I'm almost 6'2".

I'm looking at 930 SPX's now and that's my thoughts as well: No pistol grip for a tang safety. Wish shotguns came with an AR style safety for pistol gripped shotties.
