I just saw the previews for it yesterday. Looks pretty interesting, thinking about seeing it this weekend sometime. I won two movie tickets recently so i figure what the heck, it'll cost me some soda and popcorn. Lol

Just watched it. Intense movie for sure. I liked it.

It was also awesome that half the theatre I was in looked like the people in those south central hoods.

Might see it next week. Heard good things about it. I am generally skeptical about any movie that claims to be able to portray the life of a patrol cop though because it is not something that Hollywood typically goes for.

It's not some juicy undercover detective or SWAT stuff that they can write all sorts of stupid subplots in... it's life... on patrol, which is 95% just driving around and talking smack to each other.

It was a good movie. Some Hollywood elements, but it has to be entertaining to put people in the seats. I'll wait before I add another comment.

It's a good movie, with Hollywood. My good buddy from LAPD (Newton Div) was one of the advisors or whatever for it, so I may be biased lol

It takes at least 30 minutes arguing with your shift partners about where to go eat and then you get there and it's too crowded, closed, or you see the sergeant's car there so you have to go elsewhere.

Meh.

Looks like a fun movie, but do they show all the paperwork those guys would be buried under?

I watched this a few days ago. I think it is one of the most accurate movies that portray the life of a patrol officer. It's not like other movies where it's all running and gunning. This movie actually talked about: (too name a few)

- report writing/paperwork
- the long investigation process after any OIS
- how the stress of the job affect a officer's personal life
- the shenanigans that occur between coworkers/partners

There are some parts that were "Hollywood-ized". I don't blame Hollywood, since the movie has to be exciting to make some $.

As for LEOs who plan on taking their family (i.e. significant others), I would caution in doing this. This movie is a good movie with the guys. Personally, this movie definitely hit very close to home.

*Not a LEO.

I thought it was a great movie. Some parts seemed really embellished, but in my completely unqualified opinion it seemed a lot more accurate than most cop/soldier genre movies.
Every other cop/soldier movie makes it seem like every guy is special operations or a SWAT officer or deep cover narcotics guy.
It was kind of cool to see one about regular patrol guys.

I watched it yesterday. I took my girlfriend and it was the worst idea I've done. Her brother was recently accepted to OCSD(he starts the academy in October). She was terrified. Although the movie was good, her reaction was not. Thank god her mother didn't come along(She was thinking about it).

Yeah, I asked my girlfriend and my sister not to watch the movie.

Some don't have a choice... the whole city is like that... heck, the majority of the county is like that.

I know it's in America but now we get a little sense of what the Mexican cops go through everyday when the Cartels take them on. Except they are totally outgunned when they start launching grenades, RPGs, .50s and such.

I liked the interaction between the captain and the officers. He was a tough guy in front of a crowd, lacks a personality and tries to be "one of the guys" when a good arrest is made.

I took the wife; bad idea. She now wants a 7 point pendant.

Default End of Watch

The back-and-forth banter between beat parters was spot on... funny stuff! I had a partner like that for years while on 1st Watch. He was killed in 2009.

Was he the captain that yells at everybody and slams the door everytime?

I think I have seen that caricature in every cop movie or tv show.

Similar in some respects in the first encounter, briefing. Very different in the second interaction when the officers make a good bust. The Captain tries to talk to them on their level and fails. He has previously demonstrated that the officers are far below him. All in all; it's a good flick.

The racial comments between the officers are great. I have an Indian (from India) co-worker. We make jokes about chicken curry, code 3 flying carpets, lattes and gun nuts to each other all the time.

I thought it was an excellent movie. Sure it was Hollywoodized, but that's a given. The two actors went on a ton of ride-a-longs and I think they really nailed it as coppers.

Their attention to detail was very good and they were totally believable as coppers.

I'll probably see it again and buy the DVD.

Don't take family members to it.

I finally got a chance to see it tonight. Well done and thoroughly enjoyable. The last segment of the movie was difficult to watch and felt like I was getting kicked in the head as I viewed it.

If you are a LEO it might be better to leave the spouse at home.

I just learned that the guy who plays the ICE agent in the below scene works for my department. He was initially hired as a consultant but they liked his demeanor and he was asked to play the role.

It had the most "F" words in a movie I've ever seen. It was a little distracting.

The back and forth banter was funny at times.

Not a date movie in my opinion.

I thought "Colors" with Robert Duval & Sean Penn was better.
