Default ammo for browning bar 270 sm

i have a deer hunt coming up in october and I'm gonna use this rifle witch is my fathers. now he has killed some game with it however he has had a lot of issues with it failing to fire and such. it has been sent to browning for service and it still seems to do it. now i don't know if it just hasn't had enough rounds down it to be completely broken in. or if its the ammo he could be using witch i don't know what the ammo is. so any help with this would be much appreciated

Why not just go to the range with a box or 2 of ammo of your choice and test er out.
