Default Could I see your 20" Barrel AR set ups?

I have an old school Armalite upper and a Mega lower with an old school A2 stock in jail right now, and I plan to make some modifications and upgrades. Maybe change out the stock, new rail system, and get some long range optics, mainly be used for long range target shooting at the range, but varmint and predator hunting would definitely be an option. Just wondering if I could get some ideas. Any info on 20" barrels (pros and cons among other info) would also be greatly appreciated.

I searched for this specific topic and could not find anything. So many 16 and 18" out there.

It's a early Diamondhead prototype I think.

I finally got mine out of jail a few weeks ago. Armalite upper and a Mega lower.
Planning to add on a freefloat handguard, and a one piece scope mount.

Maybe Ive been staring at rifles for too long, but that one (which I love btw, I have a bone stock A4 clone too) looks nothing like a Nam era M16

20" and 1:7 with 1/4 MOA for elevation and windage and a float tube is what you need and will not hold you back - WOA A2 Upper

The "Vietnam era" rifle would be an A1, triangular handguard, shorter buttstock, only windage adjustments, no finger groove on the pistol grip, etc.

The one posted has a flat top receiver (A4), but A2 handguards (round handguards).

If you read my post I said A4 clone with A2 hand guards, although I am running standard rear sights on the carrying handle. I believe in KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid).

Captain Obvious is here. I think what he meant was that the M16A4 is currently in widespread use in the Corps. Compared to the Army, where even POGs are issued M4's.

There is talk of retrofitting the A4's with a telescoping stock (Vltor A5) ala the Diemaco C7. The fixed stock on the M16 compounded with the short eye relief of the current issued main optic (RCO/ACOG) is a bad combination. Even the doggie in the above photo looks like he's struggling with eye relief on his ACOG.

Something like this would mitigate a lot of those issues:

It seems like A has been talked about for years with no implementation forseeable in the near future. Good idea IMO.
A2 stock + short relief optic + body armor and other gear = suck

here's mine:

Tried going M16A4 clone route, but didn't like the KAC rail, and the A2 stock was difficult for my wife to shoot. So went this way with an adjustable that fits both of us.

Also went out of my way to find an S&W M&P15 Sport Lower because i like the rollmarks and the integrated trigger guard
