Arrow █ Sig Sauer SP2022 Build & Use Journal █

Well I told myself I would just get a shotgun in the beginning.
Picked up my 930 SPX (in my other build thread) and loved it.

Getting tired of going to a range 21 miles away to shoot anything other than slugs when there is an indoor/outdoor range 6 miles from my house.

Decided to get an entry level HG in low enough caliber for my girlfriend to enjoy.

Pulled the trigger on this beauty last night,
Sig SP2022 9mm

Fits my hand so well it almost feels like nothing is there.

Lots of paperwork for this new HG compared to the used SG I bought before.
We were so starving after the paperwork process that we stopped at Burger King.
Had to try the sweet potato fries while we were there.

So good.

Will be changing to a Sig Pro grip and adding the TruGlo TFO sights.
May look into a second Streamlight for the Sig, but the SG will be used for HD more so may skip it.

Ill use this thread like my Mossy's journal thread for range experiences and desperate cries for help

Let the waiting game start now! (Aug 3 pickup)

I have mine in .40 as well. After 200 rounds she really "breaks in". I've put 500 rounds of various ammunition through mine and have had no problems at all. Just like Doc66 said, great grouping (which mostly comes down to the shooter since guns are more accurate than the shooter anyways) and 100% reliable.

Amazing little HD gun and I plan to carry it once I get my CCW.

Looking forward to your journal!

That is a steal for the laser! Where did you find such a great deal?

I should have started a .40 thread when I got mine. Not even a month and 800 rounds through. Not a single hitch!

I love my SP2022 in 9mm! The grip so feels like it was made for my hand, pure custom. I bought my pistol with the factory night sights installed, love it.

Good luck and please keep us informed.

Down for the range! Cardboard box was a big disappointment.

Nice choice man. I recently bought mine from PSA, and it came with the case and extra grip. It also had the 3 dot sights (as opposed to the dot-the-i type sights). Albeit, they didn't include any mags, because they kept the 15rd mag that was normally included with the one they sell.

Wow... and those mags are expensive! That sucks.
How do you like their 3 dot as opposed to the contrast sites?
I think I'm more fond of our 3 dot.

I haven't picked her up yet; gonna take her out of jail on Monday. I've had good experience with 3 dot sights; haven't tried the dot-the-i type. Still getting used to my Glock sights as well, so I'm just experimenting with what I like best.

I picked up the gun from PSA for $350 shipped, so it was worth the compromise. Just a bummer that these mags don't come cheap.

Geez! I need to find a local FFL for that deal since I'm ordering another so my dad can come shoot with me when he visits.

Well WOW.
I picked her up today on my lunch.
Put 60 rounds of Winchester and Federal Wally World rounds.
FLAWLESS.
I'm in love with the SP2022

Oh and to confirm, the 2340 Factory magazines function flawlessly with 9mm.
They had a little play at the bottom pinky support but stayed locked in and fed 100%.

So we brought out the Sig to zero in my laser last night.
Have to say the laser is really fun to shoot with.
So far we have about 600 rounds down the pipe of various budget and premium brands and have not had one malfunction.
She's shooting VERY well.

Also a couple weeks ago we had a family outing to the range (San Leandro).
I brought my girlfriend, mother, and father.
It was my mother's first time shooting in almost 50 years and she's not fond of guns.
She ended up having a blast and was an amazing shot for someone to shoot their first handgun.

This was her first magazine at ~7-8 yards.
All 11 9mm rounds out of the .40 magazine (didn't squeeze in the 12th round)
Last shot was the throat shot for fun.
Called it out before she shot too so she could rub in her skills

Nice results! I'm having a bit of trouble getting used to mine. Just shot it during one outing however, but she shot really REALLY low. As in....I had to cover the bullseye with the barrel, way below the sights. What type of hold were you using with these results?

12 o'clock hold absolutely for min.
Otherwise I would shoot low as well.
I find I have a tendency to shoot slightly right as well.
Doesn't matter what stance I use either.
Need to correct it.

That's pretty nice of the FFL!
You'll love it.
You should look into the X-Change 9mm barrel if you want to pick up a bunch of cheap 9mm ammo for the range.

Not 100% Sure.
After searching it looks like the Sig X-Change kits are for the 229 and 226.
I'd call them and see if they have a factory solution.
There are a couple forum members of other forums saying that there is a conversion for the SP2022 but they are hard to come by.
Couldn't find any links myself.
