if you do a google image search for SVT 40 with your "safe search" settings set to either moderate or off, you'll find some rather interesting photos of women holding SVTs.

good call on the google search very classy photos, to classy to be distorted in anyway to make them kid friendly. Adults enjoy.

Revival.

There is a picture of a Russian chick holding a 91/30 sniper pointing upwards and slung on her shoulder; someone pointed out that the bolt was open...

I am just surprised it didn't get stuck.

I had a year of heavy barrel .22 target practice in high school courtesy of ROTC as recently as the late 80s. In San Francisco, no less.

I've never seen that pic of Louise Brooks before.

In my opinion, one of the most beautiful women of all time, along with Veronica Lake shown earlier in this thread.

This is an excellent thread. But it raises a question for me; what happened? How did we go from what is seen in some of these pics to what are are now? where did our heritage go? Or is it just California?

Can anybody identify this target rifle?
It's an 1917 Eddystone, 30-06 I have one just like it.

A local high school here in Comiforina, has a JROTC program that does air rifle competitions. At the end of the school year they take them to the range and shoot REAL LIFE 22's.

I don't think they let the girls shoot sporterized M1917 rifles in the hallways.

It looks a lot more like a Springfield M1922 training rifle.

I concur on both counts. Louise in "Pandora's Box" and Veronica in "Sullivan's Travels". Both were just breathtaking.
