Default P226 MK25

I've been wanting one of these guns for a while now, and while browsing the local gun store I came across one. I asked the guy if it was LE only and I told him I didn't think it was on the roster. He took the pistol over to a computer and came back a few minutes later and said it was good to go. I even told him a P226 Navy and P226 MK25 were not the same thing. I'm guessing they would dros it as a p226 navy since that's what their tag had written on it. It was definitely a MK25 though, it had the UID label and the Sig tag around the grip said MK25. So, would I be wrong for letting them sell it to me? Or is that just asking for trouble? Thanks

Would the DROS get denied though? Just wondering if the system would recognize the serial as an off roster handgun. Just don't want someone wasting $25.

Yep, I've seen them around for civilian sale, non SSE, on store shelves. Your DROS will go through.

Some MK25s are mislabeled on the packaging from Sig as Navy models.

If it says "Navy" on the box then it's "Navy" according to dros. You are lucky to find one like this. Enjoy!

This is how mine was labeled... and how it looks with Elite rosewood grips. Sig Custom Shop trigger enhancement package was a nice upgrade.
Shoots great!

Wow, that looks amazing with those rosewood grips on it! You guys all eased my concern with buying it. Now I just have to wait since I bought a handgun two weeks ago and hope they still have it.

Can't you pay for it with the gun store, but just start the dros in 2 weeks? Of course it will be in jail for a month, but at least you'll know you will have secured it.

Different rail. Mk25 has an actual picatinny rail on it. The Navy has Sig's rail on it.

^^^ True dat... Rumor has it that the Navy complained that some accessories were not securing properly on the Sg rail,
so the Mk25 was released w/ the mil-spec 1913 rail.

I'm sure they did, and honestly, Sig should just start using the pic rail on all of their guns. It really does make more sense. HK learned this lesson after the USP. Sig should take cue from them.

Does the MK25 still have the anchor on the slide?

Yes.... That is a MK25 in the pics above, except it's not wearing the black stock grips.

You should go into the store and ask. I'm sure they won't have a problem holding the gun for you as long as you put down a deposit or pay in full. I actually went through this same process last month without any hassles.

Same thing here. I went to Warrior One in riverside and they DROSed it as a Navy. I think they have two more.

I don't believe the Coasties guns have anything different about them, I could easily be wrong though. I've never held a CG Sig, but spec wise they are just P229R .40 DAK.

If the DROS is denied due to non compliance model of the CA roster, it would be the seller's responsibility to refund ur DRO fees.
