just left the range in Beaumont. Casey was very polite and professional. All of the staff is nice. My only problem is he doesnt allow you to pick up brass. Even your own.

I agree & will stick to my desert shooting spots. I really dont like to be around newbies with rented guns either. Maybe when the weather gets cooler we should plan a group shoot out in the desert for the calgunners in Coachella Valley.

If I cannot pick up brass then I have 3 options:

1. Brass catcher.
2. Revolver.
3. Buy their ammo.

How are their ammo prices in comparison to store bought?

Stopped in over the weekend and shot for an hour, then talked with Casey for another hour. Nice family, still working some bugs out here and there, but a nice place to shoot. We talked about ideas for setting up full benches to accommodate rifle rest/sleds in the rifle range portion. And I got a chuckle hearing some of the crap he's already had to deal with (like people in the rifle range only moving the target out 10 yrds and shooting at the bottom circles... Casey was in early that day patching the concrete).

I do worry about some of the "usual suspect type" gun shop loiterers that spew FUD. Casey is just starting out, so if you're in there and hear some BS, try to politely steer the owners away from it.

They are wanting to host some kind of a meet and BBQ type event at the range.
Next trip I'll drop off a Calguns flyer and try to get him on here.

Default I went yesterday

I went yesterday and it's a really nice range. The place is clean and the family that owns it seem really nice. I had the place to myself around 11am and had a good time. I'll start going once a week and I sure hope that other Calgunners give them some business as well because I'd like to see them be a success. BTW they are also offering some off the cheapest FFL transfers that I've seen in years.

I'm out of action for a couple of weeks but lets do a meetup there soon.

Went there Friday night with the GF. We were the only ones on the Pistol range and we felt very welcome by Casey and his wife Tracy. They are very nice people. He showed us around the place including the rifle range.

When we were given a lane number and commenced shooting Tracey would come in from time to time to see how we were doing or if we needed anything. Overall we had a really great time and I was happy I was able to take out the new Glock 19 and my Kimber Eclipse Target out there since we were in the area at a graduation party.

I would definitely go more often, I think I'll need to figure a way out to bring a tripod and net to catch brass and get that approved.

BTW, 50Rds of Federal Champion 230gr 45 Auto was $22. Seems to be ok.

I went in last night and myself and friend were the only ones in. I let the owner shoot my RIA 9mm 1911, Kahr, and glock 26. He let us stay for an extra 20 or so minutes. He was telling me about some fun ideas he has planned out as far as shooting competition/games go. I will be going back again as the atmosphere is nice and owners were welcoming and friendly.

Sorry to dig this up from the grave, but I just saw this.

I've been to Dave's Magnum Range in San Bernardino, close to home, but I've always found the staff to be kinda on the rude side--the last time I was there was about two years ago, (when Inland F&G closed), and left after shooting feeling like I wasn't welcome there--others I talked to felt the same.

To anyone who's been to both, which would you say is customer "friendlier"?

Customer service means a lot to me, to the point that I will spend more and drive further to feel welcome.

Thanks,

Sponge

I went there also for the same reason, since I live walking distance to Highland F & G. I don't like the vibe also at Dave's Magnum Range. I rather just drive to Rancho's Magnum Range.

I'll have to check out this range in Beaumont, since the Range in Rancho has limitations on shooting .223 (you have to be a member, shoot on certain day and use their ammo)

Good it's not just me. Dave's magnum Range is very close to my work and I have been there 5 or 6 times. The vibe I get is as if I am asking the guy for permission to date his 16 year old daughter. And I'm 49. Have not gone back.

Just got back from a couple of hours at The Range in Beaumont. Pleased to say, it was a great experience. Family run, great service, friendly and professional. Felt like a was welcomed like a family friend.

it's a 20 minute drive from my house is Redlands, but worth it even if I had to drive an hour. I plan to go as often as I can; they offer an annual pass.

Spread the word.

Went there on Friday. Casey and Tracy make you feel so comfortable. Customer service is awesome. We had some trouble with the .22lr ammo and they gave us an extra box for free. Plus, Casey came into the range and let us shoot several rifles no charge. Plus he gave us about 20 minutes extra time on the range.

ALSO, on Fridays, they have a German food caterer that stops by. This is the PERFECT time to have a Calguns meet. We can eat and shoot. What say ye Eat Dirt ?

If anyone wants to assist in setting up a second IE chapter monthly shoot at this location, drop me a PM. There is a desire to do so from the Calguns side, but I would like to have someone local to that range be involved.

This! I just bought a house off 5 minutes away and I know for a fact the brass catcher on my AR is more of a brass deflector, but it doesn't catch ****e!

Talked to Casey, he says he now allows rifle calibers up to .308!

Plus he said the whole brass thing is mainly for liability. He said he can't have people going around picking up brass while other people are shooting. He said if you have a brass catcher or use a revolver, by all means, keep your brass.
