Decided to repeat an earlier post showing my collection online for this thread. Started little over a year ago with a C&R and a Garand. And several 'grand' later I end up with this. All bayonets are original & correct except where noted. The picture indicated the models and the manufactured dates. The pride of the collection is a very early Remington M1903 manufactured in December 1941.

That's quite an accumulation in a bit over one year. I hope you find time to shoot them as that makes owning them much more enjoyable.
It would be nice if you'd included the picture rather than a link. Quote:

Thanks for posting the picture - still trying to figure out the forum controls.

Nice display of a nice collection. I am inspired to make a similar pic of mine, with their bayos (I only have one Finn bayo, and it's a repro, but the rest all have 'em).
Here's a side view of two sections of the collection: m39's and Mausers. ![]() Some of my builds are in here, too, and the VZ24 now has its rear sight. ![]() I think if I set aside two hours near sunset, that I can get good color for a full bayo, full collection, pic. Mosins have to come out, too. CDFingers |

Finished the shadow box for my father in law - WW 2 Veteran of Okinawa (96th ID), I put the M1's and the Springfield in a Mahogany box. Woodworking is my other hobby. Updated to add his 7 medals & Presidental Unit Citation. He joined the Army in 1940 so he trained with the Springfield, fought with the M1 Garand, with his officers & mortarman carrying the m1 carbine.

3/4 hardwood mahogany glued and scewed together - all screws sealed, metal reinforced on all edges. 5" lag screws bolted to the wall frame . Double dead bolt locked. 3/8 Polycarbonate front. Child proof? - yes. 20 lb sledgehammer proof? - probably not. The guns do get locked in a regular safe when I'm travel. I guess California DOJ will say I need trigger locks on top of all this too.

I'm sorry to say it but, 5 minutes and a crow bar will turn it all into firewood.
It's still a beautiful job!

To the OP,
Great collection, nice to see most of them with bayonets. I need to photograph my collection again, as their are some new arrivals that have not been photographed. I was tempted to do the international multi-time period collecting - but, I have to say, when I decided to focus on one country, one war, the collection really started to get interesting. Thanks for sharing, Pit. |

I like that setup. My great grandfather was 96th ID. He originally joined the Navy but heard that if he was Army then he'd be back in Texas with his wife, so he requested it. He hopped on a train and watched Texas go right by on the way to the Pacific. |

I shoot with people with modern scoped rifles and service rifles all the time and it freaks them out when I have a good run. I get asked if I have done something special to the rifle. No they are mostly just as I received them..
