Default My RIA GI 45ACP

This is my RIA GI 45 I have 200 rounds through it and it shoots great.

Mods I have done

Wilson BBL bushing
Kings .281 link
Kings long trigger
Infinity Spur hammer
S&A slim magwell
EGW firing pin stop
IMSI 19lb mainspring
IMSI 15lb recoil spring
Ed Brown SS single side thumb safety
McCormick slim grips and hex screws
Harrison retro rear sight
MGM narrow tennon front sight
Undercut frame
Blended rear frame and commander grip safety
Trigger pull 3 1/2 lbs used the TR Sear tool by Mr Chuck Warner
Internals deburred

at 25 yards I have put 3 shots in 2"
I am very happy with how it shoots for 399+Cali fees it is a great deal
Next is 20lpi checkering and magwell gap reduction and blending. Then the lower gets hard chromed. I left the stock frame to slide fit.
That's it for now

Did he "sand off" the logo, or is it just not showing up in the picture?

That tan cerakote looks so amazing, I was reading a Sig 1911 thread earlier and I thought it clicked on it again lol.

im not sure how much truth is behind that, but seeing as a 1911 whether from any brand will still be a 1911, u can do pretty much the same
thing from a $500 RIA to a fully customized Nighthawk or Wilson Combat

just my .02

I keep running across forum postings that say this is an urban legend. They are fantastic guns for the money either way.

You might want to call RIA and see about getting it looked at then. Is it hammer follow? That could be very unsafe.

I am not really sure what the issue is, I bought it "slightly" used. I have only put 3 magazines through it, 2 of the 3 it randomly had the issue. I was at a local indoor range that has no A/C and it was 100+ outside. I couldnt really get a feel for the gun since I was miserable.

I am going to shoot it again tomorrow at a nice range where I can take my time and see what happens then proceed from there.

I dont think so. I bought it off of this board. The guy seemed stand up when we met. He casually mentioned the gun had been sent back to RI for repair after money had been handed over and we started the paperwork.

To be honest I don't remember the issue it was sent back for. The minute he mentioned that I saw red and stopped listening because that bit of info was left out of the for sale ad.

I honestly think he thought any issues had been worked out from the factory, and the gun was fine. I need to spend more time at the range before I move forward.

I field stripped it and cleaned it, nothing obvious wrong. But I am a noob.
