If it's just a standard lower parts kit they are all the same, those companies don't actually make their own LPK's and everyone gets them from the same source, as long as it's made in USA you are good to go. I actually prefer the standard parts over most of the fancy high end triggers however RRA does have a 2 stage trigger that I like.

Remember to get an ambi-selector too if you guys are doing featureless builds too.

I've done enough research, not so interested in a featureless build. Time to start researching all the parts now . This is fun!

I did see some posts about not getting a LPK and just piecing it together yourself. Just wondering if I should consider that?

No, you do need a LPK but "piecing it together" is what you are doing with the entire rifle. LPK is considered one of the pieces.

Just another thought, I don't buy lpk. if you look at all the parts in it, the only thing I actually end up using are the springs, not even all the detents.<br />
So if you're like me, Battlearms selector, Geissele or other trigger, magpul grip, extended take down pins...it really isn't worth buying a lpk. pick up a spring replacement kit or buy individual spare parts from Palmetto, it'll save you some $. And I always have extra little things like the bolt catch detent spring and roll pin.
Maybe I didn't say that right. Here's the post from another thread I was referring to.

I did understand what you meant before, for me I like a LPK because I like the standard grip with kydex wrap (thinner then others) and the standard trigger. I do use ambi selectors because of the kydex wrap so that's one thing I always change from the LPK.

I guess it really comes down to what parts you plan to use, if you want all the high end doodadds then I guess buying spare parts individually could make sense but realize you're going to spend alot more money anyway since all those "special" parts cost more.

Yes, but I'm not sure why they are calling those "95%" as they appear to have the same machining as any forged 80%....???

I am planning on picking up a Tactical Machining 80% AR-15. Will the TM work instead of Quentin 80% on your CNC? Is it possible to get on the wait list for Saturday? Are you planning another party for the future? Thanks in advance

Hello Everyone,
I would like to inform everyone that for those interested or in need of a bullet button I will be offering Cali15-BS bullet buttons for sale for all Build Party members.
The Cali15-BS is an ingenious design that comes in handy for people, like myself, who often travel out of state and like to take my rifle with me.

Here is a video of how the Bullet Button works

Pricing will be $27 for the bullet button + the tool
If you have any questions or if you want to reserve/order a BB please PM ME so we can leave this thread alone and keep it on topic.

Does the build party include any finishing of the lower (cerakote, etc.)?

Oh... and I was wondering about the order of engraving and machining. I would have expected machining to take place first, then engraving. But I read somewhere that you actually engrave first. Just wondering...?

We don't do any coatings at the party. We let everyone machine first but it doesn't matter which order you go in unless you have to send it out somewhere to be engraved in which case you'd want to do that before you turn it into a firearm.

I know it's probably wrong to ask, but when will be the next build party? I'm totally in. You folks are going to have such a great time this weekend!

I'm doing all my research and already purchasing parts. If there's a list already started for the next party, I need 2 spots.

Hmmm, trigger disconnect is not working. Looks like the trigger is not moving forward far enough and the disconnect won't disconnect. I can't push the trigger forward enough to make it reset. I'm pretty sure it's that .030 that had to be taken off of the lower to make room for the hammer. I'm thinking a dowel and some sandpaper should do the job. I'm not gonna lie though I'm a little disappointed.

I'm pretty sure it's that .030 that had to be taken off of the lower to make room for the hammer. I'm thinking a dowel and some sandpaper should do the job. I'm not gonna lie though I'm a little disappointed.
The side holes were done on a different fixture which did not have any problems with anyones stuff all weekend, the spacing and correct positioning between the hammer and trigger holes is what matters most, having the pocket be a 300th's of an inch longer at the rear of the pocket won't affect you hammer and trigger function and since we did take off the .030 from the front that area is in spec. Check to make sure the depth of the pocket is 2.249" and let me know what you find. Is anyone else having this problem?

You wouldnt happen to be using a R-guns stainless lower parts kit would you? I have encountered disconnect problems with those in the past, on other builds...
