'28/'29 Ford Radiator cap with meter
Just cleaned out the garage and found this radiator cap with meter in chrome. Says it fits 28-29 Fords. Anyone know what this thing might be worth? Anyone need something like this for a project or nostalgia? I am located in Sonoma County. Let me know what you guys think!

It could be worth several hundred dollars if its a original ford part but it looks to be in too good of condition from the pics to be original.
I would say from the look of it that its a reproduction. and there are tons of repro ford parts floating around. If your anywhere near LA you could head to the Pomona fairgrounds antique car show and sale and talk to a vendor there that knows about such things. I'm not sure how often they have this show but I remember it being about once a month. A guy by the name of George cross use to run it. |

Ok, I did some research. It's a Vintiques Inc. repro. I saw similar brands in this same item go for $60 retail. Anyone still interested? It's like brand new, but I am willing to bet that it's at least a decade old. My late grandfather had a '29 Model A, completed, but disassembled in a trailer on his property. After he passed, my dad sold it to a neighbor and close friend who had always expressed interest in the car. While liquidating his estate for my grandma, a lot of items were given to the grandchildren, i.e.: Me. I got boxes and boxes of old original Snap On tools circa WWII and some odds and ends. This is one of them. I always thought it was worth alot of money, so I stashed it in my stuff and it recently resurfaced. Kinda a bummer that it's not an original, but oh well. Again, maybe someone collects this kind of stuff or has a project it can go on...

I still have it all, and it ranges from slightly used to well used condition. I was left metric and standard box wrenches, which are 60's -70's era, I figure that from the script logo and from showing a few different Snap On guys. I also have Snap On ratchets and sockets from WWII, they are a little old looking but function perfectly. I have some old Blue Point, MAC, and MATCO stuff from different years. It's amazing that 60+ years of time and use and they are in such good shape. Kinda funny that I was left some tools, some fishing equipment, some ,model A parts, a belt buckle, and a revolver as inheritance. It's like all the best things I remember about my grandfather.

This is the kind of stuff I have in my toolbox... Along with some newer stuff but this is what the old stuff looks like. I got a bunch of it, from little tiny wrenches that I have no clue what you'd use on, to big ones that look fit for a big rig. I like to think about all the places they probably went and all the different things they might have worked on...
