Default Calico 22 (M100) rifle for sale $300

Sacramento/ Elk Grove area...I am posting this sale for a friend. He is brand new to the forum and cant do pictures yet. His nickname is -- pilejay , he will post a response that this is a sale he is offering.

For sale is one Calico rifle model M100. This has NO MAGAZINE. It is in good condition. Hasnt been fired in years, just stored. My buddy brought the gun over today and we took some pictiures. I barely have enough posts for pics, thats why I am listing it for sale on his behalf ( I apologize if this is against the rules, please let us know and we will make any changes necessary).

We cleaned it up some today and it had some slight rust in a few spots, but mostly around the bars of the folding stock. The bore is crisp and shiney, and the gun is in nice shape. Looks like alot of fun to shoot.

He wants $300 for the Calico and you pay the PPT or FFL fees. He has never done an FFL transfer and would prefer something here in town. But he will ship to an FFL after speaking with them, assuming its all cool and legal to mail it to them.

He will be replying in this thread, (name is pilejay) so please just PM him if you are interested.

Here are some pics...

Ivan wasn't up late. His Calguns For Sale pager woke him up. In fact with this pager, he doesn't even need to turn on his computer, he has it automatically post "I'll take it" from the convenience of whereever he is.

Well since no one else has said "seconds". I will take it (2nd in line) if Ivanimal doesn't pull thru.

I will be flying into the Concord/Oakland area this weekend too.

I don't think you would even find a magazine because they are made in 100/50 rd magazines. I don't even think they manufactured the 22 cal magazine until the AW ban of 2004 passed

Or you could own a non working rifle and already have 2 mags for it. I wore out my first one and could not get it running correctly again. It will be nice to use the mags again.

How do you shoot this thing? I'm assuming the rear part of the stock unfolds.. if not, than how?! also, can you get a decent cheekweld on there w/ the sights so high up?

Not correct, I have some of them from 1993, when the original company was in Bakersfield!

They actually started selling them in 1990. Here is the sales/production for just the pistols.

CALICO PISTOL PRODUCTION HISTORY

Year .22 cal .
1990 349
1991 1,800
1992 675
1993 688
1994 625

Yes! Along with the gun itself!

Wrong! .22LR available as early as 1987!

Actually, they made them even earlier than that; the .22LR Calico M-100 came out in 1987 and they sold thousands in just a few short years. There were also different versions and accessories for the .22LR (some items the 9mm M-900 never even got to have). By 1988 Mike Miller, a voice in the Calico management, had the company put out a version of the same with a two piece walnut stock and forearm, with a large standard size thumbhole buttstock, nearly the size of an AR-15 A2 buttstock. The .22LR version had the 100 round magazines from first chalk-board drawing. There was also a pistol version of the .22 with a 6 inch barrel.

Their actual address at the time was: American Industries, 405 East 19th St., Bakersfield, CA 93305.

Here are a few photos of mine which I still own, with the collapsible stock. I have many fond memories of shooting this gun in the more rural settings of my past, which they are "fond" partly because the gun always worked. It never hung up, never failed to feed, and never jammed, which is something you might expect from a gun in .22LR with a complex feeding system and longer barrel. Yet, the little Calico always ran great! I seem to recall having bought it around mid summer 1988, and it is of a low serial number. Note the close-up of "Made in Bakersfield, California, U.S.A.":
