Default Introducing myself to Calgunner Community

I never got a chance to introduce myself to the Calgunner community, so I wanted to hello to everyone and share a bit of my story.

I never thought about owing any firearms until I keep hearing how California will releasing prisoners early (Prison realignment act), dropping felonies to misdemeanor, etc. Then I hear about new firearm laws that was passed by our state, basically stripping our gun rights. So this is when I decided to take a stand.

So I started snatching up rifles. I went from 0 firearms in July to 1 handgun, 3 rifles in August *Maybe just one more in September*. I honestly didn't know how fun it was to buy these firearms. I signed the petitions to get those new laws on the ballet, and joined the NRA.

I didn't pay much attention before, but No F'ing way I'm gonna them start taking away the right to defend ourselves. Cops respond after the crime has been committed.

So far, I had a great time in the marketplace *a bit addicting to see so many different guns out there*, and communicating with other members.

Anyone know good rifle ranges in So Cal/ LA area where I can shoot or clubs I can join?

Thanks everyone!

Welcome aboard!

I like the story that you shared and I hope many other Californians, like yourself, are buying firearms and joining our cause to make sure we keep our inalienable rights ( = rights that you were born with that can never be sold, traded or taken away.) and that are affirmed by the second amendment of United States Constitution.

Glad to have you on board. Remember, calguns is a board about guns. There's no universal consensus here about anything else except that guns are a right that we should all be free to own and use as we see fit.

Don't get sidetracked by other discussions. Most important thing is being loud and proud for the 2A. Your joining the NRA shows you have your head on straight and are definitely one of us. Keep on fighting the good fight and never ever let the government or peer pressure force you to disarm.

Welcome Carlos! Wow, starting with the fancy HK's?!

Get whatever YOU like!

Good outdoor public ranges in the LA area:
Angeles Shooting Range (Sylmar),
Burro Canyon Shooting Park (Azusa),
Wes Thomson's Gun Range (Piru),

I myself am trying to find a private, outdoor range to join within a 1 hour drive of the SGV, not much luck yet

I haven't forgotten about shotguns yet. I'm in no rush to collect those because the laws don't affect them...or do they?!?!

We are happy to have you! Too bad we need many more people to wake up and smell the coffee... Like you said, cops are the clean up crew; we have to defend ourselves and our families! Oh, and don't forget to spread the word regarding the new laws, and to convince your gun owning friends to vote!

Congrats and welcome! Great taste you got there!
Angeles shooting range, Rauhaugges' (sp?), BRRC are the rifles friendly ranges I've enjoyed.

Re freshening to see a new member talk about guns instead of complaining about their LGS or the the price of used off roster guns in the classified section.

Again welcome!

I'm in the middle of converting my wife. Never shot a gun before, took her to the range, then to a gun shop where she tried out a few guns. Shes not ready to pull the trigger yet but it will happen.

Next comes my other family members...My master plan has already been set in motion already...there's no turning back now

Who doesn't love BACON??

BTW I hate the 10 day waiting period...Oh and I'm about to add a Arsenal AK to my collection...that should be my last gun

San Diego is my stomping grounds so here are mine:

Southbay Gun club is awesome.

Poway has a nice range but I hear it may be closing soon.

Gunther's guns is close to getting their Range open in Carlsbad.

or up north County is Iron Sights,

Iron sights used to be better until an employee shot himself in the leg by accident and now they have stupid rules like firearm has to stay in it's case until you enter the shooting booth. No loading on the back table or anything. which isn't too bad of an idea until you have multiple people trying to shoot. you pretty much have to a separate lane for each shooter.
