http://www.targetsportsusa.com/p-135...mmunition.aspx

$189.90 for 5000 rds
$.03798. Cheaper than Walmart because you don't have to pay taxes, but you'll have to wait for it to arrive shipping.

I bought my 22LR at a gunshow at a lower price a few months ago, but ammo has been going up and I'm glad I got it for cheaper than that.

The only person that I know who's nutty (and cheap) enough to reload .22 is my father....

Just got a case from ammo bros was $175ish for 5250 rounds. I have also ordered from dunns it was $160ish for 5000 delivered.

Btw it's cci blazer bulk. All of my .22's love the stuff. Not the most accurate, but for me it is the most reliable.

Avoid winchester and remington .22lr. Federal and CCI make great stuff though

Before you go looking for the best deal, you'd better find what your .22 likes. My Marlin 795 loves anything CCI, but try and feed it Remington Gold Bullets and it has seizures. Fail to feed, fail to fire & ejection problems. Your best deal may not be the best deal if you can't use it.

At Walmart, I found that the 300 and something round pack was cheaper than the 550 round box of the same stuff. If you just need some for this weekend, hit up Walmart and pick up at least 1000 rounds.

Korny said it well. Stop looking for "cheapest". Look more for "best". The odds are pretty good that the two aren't the same thing. Something between "Uncle Joes .22s" and Eley Match. Unless all you want is junk to pour through the barrel. That's not normally very satisfying after a while.

Affirmative. .22 is still his favorite cartridge as it's so inexpensive. Which is odd, considering his infatuation with black powder revolvers...

I got a great deal on remington a few years ago and I still have it won't shoot in anything I own except the single shot I have for beginners.

I hunt a lot with CCI and they make a bunch of different rounds to suit your need. I was having trouble with ground squirrels crawling off after shot I asked CCI and they turned me on to their 32 grain segmented Hollow point at 1640 FPS. You can't find this ammo everywhere but it stops ground squirrels dead in their tracks. So put me in the crowd that says find what your guns like then shop price for that ammunition.

Bought a 550 pack of federal at Cabellas in Jan on my way through Eugene Oregon. Payed 16.99.

You missed it!
The Remington that CMP was selling a couple of months back was $115.00/5000 delivered.
Thought I was big britches because I showed up with a case. My buddy then pulled his iPhone out and showed me a picture of 10 cases (50,000 rds) that he scored!

Have shot a couple hundred already - works without a single hiccup. Other than that - the cheap, easy to find stuff is at Walmart.

I hate the remington golden crap and winchester. That bulk Federal and CCI Blazer (and other CCI)have worked awesome.

Glad to see I'm not the only one that thinks so.

I was at big 5 and saw .22 going for 22 or 24 per box of 500, too rich for my blood.

Of course in a few years I'll wish I'd loaded up at that price.
