Default J&G Tokarev package

Was thinking of picking up a Tok from J&G to complement my Cz52 (both 30 cal handguns). They have some surplus ammo to go with it.

Its about 300 bucks with 400 rounds of ammo and holster shipped to my C&R.

Any thoughts? The reviews look really good.

I cant help feeling that the GCA really ruins the looks of these guns with their godawful import billboards on the slides.

I'd like to have one as well...was under the impression that C&R handguns couldn't be shipped to an 03FFL in CA.

Thought you can only mail order pistols if you have a COE as well?

I have an out of state C&R, the gun will go there, and I'll go pick it up, or have it shipped down.

We bought a Romanian Tokarev from J+G in January. Its sweet, nicest handgun we have. Not the prettiest gun, but you can't beat it for the money. Here's a pic with its roomates.

Dont worry, they've got 99+ left on their site.

Pauly... I am impressed. I have a very clean Cz52 and a Nagant I bought from another Calgunner, but it looks like you bought just about every C&R pistol J&G offers... Besides the Luger.

I called them today by the way, they are super friendly. I like giving them my money. They were awesome during the AB962 scare too. I still have the Uncle Sam flyer they sent out.

Does anyone have a good line on getting additional mags for the Tokarev?

Try J&G Sales. I take it back, J&G is only selling single mags if you buy a pistol. Remember that the romanian Tok's wont take other types Tok mags.

Here is a link to a search on Numrich. http://www.gunpartscorp.com/catalog/...karev+magazine

It does not say what country made them.

CDNN has new mags made by Norinco.

It seems to be more and more common. I just wrote the ATF a letter with my application explaining that basically I had an FFL03 already, but I wanted another for an address in WA state to I could avoid California shipping laws, I mentioned that a lot of sellers will not ship to California at all because of predjudice or ignorance, and that I wanted a second FFL to 'facilitate my collection of C&R firearms in accordance with state and federal laws".... It was quite a letter...

They replied by sending me a second license, I had an odd warm and fuzzy feeling towards the BATFE at that moment.... It was a strange feeling.

Thing is, having my relative mail me my pistol seems to be kind of tricky. I am still doing my homework.
The gun belongs to me, its recorded in my bound book, but I am not in physical possesion of it. I want to ship it to myself basically. Any advice?

I hope my thread about having 2 C&R FFL's had something to do with that.

First off keep both bound books with you at your main address, ie here in CA.

Have who you buy the gun from send a "packing slip" with the shipment and an "Invoice" to your mailing address. Have them include a full description including serial number.

Log in your new gun with the info on the invoice. You now have proof that it is your gun and you acquired it out of state.

Have Aunt Sally make out a new "Shipping Label" with your CA address on it and have her apply the new label over the old one and have her ship it to you. This way Aunt Sally never opened your package and took possession of your gun.

It is perfectly legal to have your gun shipped to you.

I did get my second C&R because of your posts, thank you. I do have both my books with me here, based on the advice you got from the ATF field office. I dont forsee any problems. I searched high and low and could find no law that was being broken. I talked to the ATF, explained my plans, situation etc...

You always have to be careful about interstate firearm shipments, but like you say, its relatively easy.

Good post and a smart procedure to follow. Even though having 2 03FFLs would provide me no advantage, I always find these threads interesting

I also want to Thank you, because of your post I got my 2nd C&R. I called ATF and told them what I wanted to do and why. I also included thatt I travel to see my family for weeks and sometimes months at a time and one time I wanted to buy something on gunbroker but couldnt because I asnt home to receive it so by havinga out of state licence I could continue my collecting. ATF reminded me that C&R is not a licence to do bussines and to make sure that the guns are infact C&R. He said sometime something listed as C&R is not and it is our job to make sure we are only buying C&R guns with our licence.

The ATF agent I spoke with was very nice. he did a check on the state I wanted my licence in because he said some states do not alow C&R because of state law and reminded me to make sure I follow all state laws. He seamed to think that I would only need to keep one bound book for both licences. I am thinking that I will use the same book but add a 2nd set of pages so same bound book but different sub divided. Does that sound right to you all in the know?

I don't see a problem with that Casino.

I'm guessing you are using a 3 ring binder for your BB. The only thing I would do is use some kind of divider to keep them separate and a page in front of both section saying which license this group of pages are for.

I highly recomend J+G. They were very helpful when we were there. They let us look at 5(?) guns to pick out the one we wanted. They have pretty good prices on ammo also. If you want you can easily find your own private "range" off the freeway on the way back to test your new toy We put several rounds through some old cans with our Nagant revolver.

What states dont alllow C&R...? I mean besides CA in 2014...? I mean you can have the 03 but it wont do you any good on intrastate sales or guns shipped in. I thank God we will be gone by then.

Two licenses, two books, no confusion. In fact, I thought the law called for one book per license? Thats my opinion on the matter anyway. I run two books, and keep them at my primary premisis.
