Enrolled on July 9, got my package on the 23rd. Checked that site out again and found I could upgrade to Endowment for another $250, so I'm an Endowment Member now. Thanks again, Robert.

Just a quick follow-up on this... since my sign-up on 8 July, membership materials were postmarked on 20 July and I got them just the other day. So figure about two weeks total all said and done. Not bad!

Thanks again everyone.

Nothing at all. Just a certificate, pin, and patch that says endowment. Then it goes to Patron, and then it goes to benefactor. I think you may actually get a jacket or something in addition to the title. Funny thing is, they do keep up with donations after the life. I like the civil rights defense fund and I got to patron that way with no break, and I just went ahead and did the benefactor deal online. Basically the upper levels are a way for you to continue to support them after you are a life member. I figured election year, what the heck. They went in 20 million in the 2010 elections, and I imagine that it won't be any less this go around. So i said what the heck, I will do the benefactor, and sign up as many lifers as possible, and here we are.

One warning. It never ends. I thought benefactor was the end of the road. Now they have a 'deal' where I can join something like the 'presidents council' for 500 off the normal 1000 yearly dues- the first year. I'm gonna pass on that one.

For those lifers who have signed up though, if interested in giving more to the NRA you can 'upgrade' at highly discounted rate at www.nra-2012.org

Just an update to all of this. When I got into this I knew at times there would be hiccups in the system that would require me to sort out. Goes with the territory. 300+ signed up on different boards, statistically speaking, bound to be a problem or two. No sweat. There are problems, but nothing that has been a big deal. They have all been fixed. I would say about 10 total where I had to call. Most boiled down to someone entering a zipcode wrong, or not putting the apt number down, or a number mixed up on the street address or whatever. It happens. Nothing I could blame on the NRA except for two instances.

Both of those instances involved someone on the EPL program. From now on, if you are on the EPL program, you are going to need to cancel that before we go through with the sponsorship. If you are on the EPL program and I sponsored you, and you have not gotten your stuff, pm me. First login to member services and see what your status says. Everything was ok with the EPL until about the last week of June.

All instances have been fixed, there is nothing to worry about. I just gotta make a call tomorrow and would like to check on any other recent EPLs while I have them on the horn.

Thanks again to Robert for all the effort. I think it bears mentioning... now that so many of us are new Lifers with the NRA, every single one of us has the ability to invite others for the same $300/life deal, so work on your pals!

Well you guys have inspired me. I just went online and upgraded to Patron.
Let's everyone get behind this and replace Obama in November.
Thanks for the nudge.

I hope all of our contributions get the attention of the NRA so they can send the cavalry to fight Yee and his minions.

2 months ago I signed up for a year, maybe I should have done this instead.

They sent me an email receipt but I never got anything else. Should I be expecting something in the mail or is this it? Maybe I'm naive but I thought I'd be getting a letter ("Welcome to the NRA...") or some sort of cool membership card :-P or maybe even that American Rifleman Magazine. Well, nothing so far. I sent their membership department an email to make sure we're good but no answer. Hmmm. Oh well, I consider it a donation.

I did however order a bunch of NRA hoodies and shirts which arrived within a week or two, so at least I get to pretend to be a member.

Edit: is it because I'm not a citizen? Would they check these things?

I would give them a call. Your citizenship status should not matter. Sorry about your experience. If you ever decide to do the life thing, let me know.

Looks like the website to do this has been taken down since 2pm central time. I will call Dianne tomorrow in life membership services, and see 1. If they can do it by phone with the caller giving my name and member number as a sponsor , and 2 if they will honor the sign up sheets I have. Between me and my boys, I have 5 or 6 sheets with 6 (I think) slots each.

Further if they will honor those sheets all 164 life members sponsored here can sponsor 6 folks. One way or the other, I think we might be good. We will see.

If anyone wants to try the phone sign up tomorrow, pm me and I will give you my info, then report back here. I am working nights, so I would normally be sleeping tomorrow.

Thanks for the update. I am glad you got yours quick. Unfortunately I have a gentleman who signed up 12 or 13 days ago that has not gotten his packet yet.

I also have a gentleman on gunboards who singed up on 7-8-12 who just got his today.

I do not know the method on which they work on the process of this, but it seems as of late it has been taking 3 weeks for some and a week and a half for others.

Edit to ad this thing may not be over yet. See latest post

Just got off the phone with the NRA and they are telling me that the deal is officially over. The only deal they have left is the half off pricing. Thanks everyone here for your support. The official count is 163. The unofficial count was 174 (which includes 11 who emailed me and got in because of this thread, were not calguners)

Thanks for everyone's support of the NRA

Very well done Robert! We appreciate what you have done. An extra $48,900 in the NRA Coffers should do some good this election season. Well done to everyone to everyone who took advantage of this offer too!

It took 9 days for my life status to kick in. Signed up on the 22nd and my expiration date rolled to 2032 on the 23rd. Yesterday it rolled to life and I got my packet of swag in the mail.

The lady I spoke with at the NRA said it was over. They do have a half off special going on. All that being said, I had two people successfully call today and get the 300 deal over the phone. I can't promise anyone anything, but if you want to try it pm me for my name and member number. I imagine it depends on who you get.

In my packet, there was a form to donate more money. It included a place for me to sponsor or buy a membership for friends and family. So maybe we can still help each other that way.

Yes, that was definitely a good run. Got in when I had the chance.

Thanks Robert!

Signed up on July 22, 2012 and I received the NRA member package on August 2, 2012. I live in a rural area so my mail is via a PO Box and I don't check it everyday (too far away) -- so, the turnaround might have been a bit faster than what I just posted. Still, a certainly reasonable turnaround for an "online" order !!!

Thank you again Robert for allowing me to use your reference to signup !!!
Dale
