If you think the NRA is the biggest threat to our gun rights, you are totally out of touch with reality. The NRA is representing its members, as it should, and according to Gallup more people approve of the NRA than the President.

I don't agree with everything that comes out of Wayne LaPierre's mouth, but to suggest that they are causing more damage than say, The Brady Campaign, Mayor's Against Illegal Guns, The President, Dianne Feinstein, or any number of other disarmament advocates is beyond absurd.

In fact, the NRA is a big reason why we still have any gun rights in this country.

Thanks for the positive comments.

To all life members of the NRA, you can give gift memberships to friends and family at www.nra-2013.org
20$ annual memberships, 300$ life memberships.

And if you are a life member and feel now is the time to kick in some more, the you can upgrade from life to endowment, endowment to patron, and patron to benefactor. All at greatly discounted rates.

robert is the MAN. After I got my life membership, i was able to both upgrade myself to endowment and my wife to life, all for less than the life membership would have normally cost me.

I know my money has gone to a great cause.

Current life members can sponsor new life members, or upgrade their membership, directly now at nra 2013 membership drive

Default I signed up

I have had some real issues with the NRA in recent times and even withheld my membership for about a year (after the claim that they were responsible for Heller and McDonald). However I have decided that I will swallow my issues and take the opportunity to get the lifetime membership at a $700 discount. They are the elephant in the room and are going to be crucial to stop the nonsense that the anti-rights folks are trying to perpetrate on us at the federal level.

That number and the offer are good through February 28.

I set up that special phone number three weeks ago because it was taking too long on hold with the regular NRA membership line.

We announced the number on my radio show (Gun Talk) and sent out the info in the Gun Talk Truth Squad newsletter. As of today, we are well past 6,000 new life members and $2 million in revenue for the NRA.

Way to go, everyone! Spread the info. This is a great deal.

(And before anyone asks, no, I don't get a cent out of this.)

Some people are reporting that it's taking 10 days for the NRA to charge their credit cards. They are swamped. Be patient.

I've gotten it all squared away too. This has been an excellent opportunity and I hope if anyone's still waffling on it that they'll make the right call.

I never really had a strong opinion (for either side) on gun laws until all this talk about needing to restrict firearms. I have since taken a pistol safety class with Bayprofs, bought my first gun, and just joined NRA as a lifetime member. Thanks for posting the link Robert.

I went to a Life membership a week or so ago. Eagerly waiting for my new card! I'm also a Life member of [http://www.saf.org/]Second Amendment Foundation[/url] and support them in their fight in the courts. IMO, NRA and SAF are complementary... NRA kicks butt in the legislative arena, SAF does it in court. And the courts are where we really need to win, given the way the winds have been blowing recently. The courts are the only possible avenue of relief for California, because there's little chance we'll have a sane, reasonable state Legislature any time soon.
