Default any BLM shoot areas in Holister BLM area?

or a better map of their land?

I see a few yellow specks between the words "San Jose" and "Santa Clara(county) on this map that look like they would out past Lake Anderson up in hills.

it seems like there aren't any designated shooting areas administered by the Hollister field office, but it seems like you can shoot anywhere they don't say you can't.

There's a lot of BLM land around there, including Condon Creek, Laguna Mountain, and Clear Creek. Clear Creek was closed for asbestos at some point, but it might be open again. From what I understand from the maps, all the BLM land is in South County.

Better maps here.

forget about all the areas mentioned above for BLM shooting... very rough terrain.
Williams Hill is one option for short range (<200-300 yards) stuff.
Panoche and Tumey are the awesome spots, but closed for summer fire season.

We used to shoot at Clear Creek, south of holister on 25. Altho it's still shut down for dirtbike use, the main road is open. You had to be a quarter mile off the main road in the old days.

you are picking areas there are animals. if you shoot there, you'll scare off what little is still there. Best to save shooting for other areas, and try hunting those spots.
