Default Could he purchase the Sig P229 SAS Gen 2?

My moms boyfriend is wanting to purchase his first handgun. He saw the Sig P229 SAS Gen 2 and he loved it. He wanted to make that one his first handgun but I told him it wasnt on the roster of handguns. But could he purchase this gun through a private party transfer and it be ok? If not through private party transfer then what else could he do?

Just get a P229. You're not gonna find a P229 SAS Gen 2 to PPT anyway. You can SSE it but I really don't see the point. Is it worth the hassle for a a melt job? He probably doesn't even know what that is.

Look into the P229 Enhanced Elite. California legal and available.

The big difference from the SAS is the slide with a front serration and the loaded chamber indicator.
