Default Trying to find people to shoot with at Steel Peak

Hey guys, new to posting on this site, though I have read many threads.

As they have just reopened it from the fire closure (as of monday december 14)....

I'm trying to collect interest from people who either already know about Steel Peak, visit there regularly already, or maybe are looking for a new place and people to have some fun with.

Obviously from some of the posts here it is a very popular spot. I have been visiting during off fire season times for almost 4 years now. Maybe some of you have seen me, but I often like to hike a ton of stuff in to the little cubby nestled into the back of the mountain and camp there for a night or two. I realize that is not for everyone, but I welcome company! I am tired of going out there myself, with no one to shoot the $#^! with or to watch my back. I will admit I do not own a 4x4, and that makes things difficult, but not impossible for me. I have no trouble getting to the entrance, or hiking a hundred plus pounds of stuff in to my favorite spot, but am pretty hesitant to leave my car there overnight, so my wife drives me when I camp out.

I had a rather decent sized group of friends that were going out there with me a couple times a month for a couple years up till this year, when a couple of them moved away! I would love to find some people interested in just hanging out at the range a few times a month, or whenever! Feel free to Email me or post replies here of what days/times work for you!

Hopefully this catches some interest :) Safety in numbers right? Thanks everyone and be safe!

Note: Please don't feel like there is any expectation to go camping out there. I do it for the sake of convenience and fun. I just want to make some new shooting buddies.

Camping out there sounds interesting.
I live in Murrieta and have shot out there a few times, but usually do Bee Canyon.
Keep me updated on this..I'd have a few buds interested in a quick overnighter and some shooting.
Plus - I have a 4x4.

I have yet to go but just moved offices to Riverside so I am looking to hit steele peak very soon. I hear some of the ranges exceed 300 yards if you shoot close to dirt road. I drive a sports car but from what I saw in videos the roads look pretty maintained and not like barstow desert Etc.

I also see guys in the "Range Clean Up" Section talking about an organized clean up of Steele peak as well. That may be a good time to network!

Hey Beto,
Next time you go shooting give me a heads up. I think I went out to Bee Canyon with you a few years ago. I need to hitch a ride as my car does make it to either place : )

No you don't need it, but I would want it just in case. I've seen a few 2wd vehicles on the backside.
