Default Here's what I'm planning on etching into my receiver. Critique please? **New Photos**

It's pretty straight forward, I designed the emblem, and have been pondering witty phrases to put on the other side. I think I've finally come up with something relatively unique, funny, and safe (though "safe" up for debate, and that's why I'm posting here)

Anyone think the wording could get me in trouble? Other suggestions?

I'm going to mask with stick-on vinyl, and salt-water etch (via. the method that Vaderspade used, also explained HERE)

EDIT: based on feedback:

I dont like the wording to be honest. Find a sign that has a similar wording, and use the same minus the projectile part.

I think your design and text are going to cause problems for you because they are so intricate. It will be very difficult to cut that in vinyl as it will lack any thickness in those dimensions.

Or maybe something like "the projectiles dispelled from this firearm contain lead and is known to cause cancer in the state of California". Or something like that seeing that everything in this state causes cancer now-a-days.

I thought about doing cancer; still considering it...

Synonyms for lead? Tony, I'm PRETTY sure a printing company with the capability of doing vinyl will be able to capture at least the majority of the details; I've sent inquiries to one so far and I also know one personally, and will contact them tomorrow.

Cool slogan, but shouldn't "Bodily harm" come before "Death?" Death is the ultimate downer for most people. Just sayin"...

I think the irony of pointing out that lead in the bullets is a substance known to the state of PRK to be unhealthy is rather funny.

"WARNING: The ammunition used in this weapon contains chemicals, including lead, known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling."

It's all cool, except for the wording. But, if it WAS me, I rather put the money toward another new gun, but that's me

Is the lower in question an aluminum AR lower? Will the salt water etching process work on aluminum?

From everything I've read, it is that easy; I posted links to another tutorial that was even more in depth. Google "salt water etching". the recommended saline solution is ~%5, though no one has noticed a significant difference by increasing the salinity of the water, or increasing voltage.

I already have the receiver, payed $10 for the float charger, and will probably pay $20 for the vinyl. Salt water is virtually free, and q-tips are cheap... Not nearly enough to buy a gun . What words would you use? Just don't care for the sarcasm?

Metal is metal is metal for the most part. The way I understand it, the alkaline solution has an acidic effect when a current is applied. (acids eat metal) the rest is just masking, and making sure the mask has a good seal.

I'm not entirely sure what BRD is... addiction to buying guns?

Warning: This firearm will cause fear, panic, and in most cases a code brown situation due to ignorance. Possible side effects are spontaneous combustion of baby kittens and a permanent darkness falling over the earth.

Heres the emblem side masked.. Obviously less details than I'd hoped, but I dont know anyone with a laser cutting table, and its less than 2 inches

Went the razorblade/exacto route

Post Etch; not as deep as I'd have liked, (not sure if Duracoat will completely cover it up) I'll probably run over it a few times and detail it a bit with my hand engraver, but overall not bad

More pics up soon.

Who cares what other people think, it's your rifle.
