off topic but;

You know that the term "Bust some caps" is not actually a "gangsta" term?

If you watch the original "True Grit" you'll hear Robert Duvall saying he doesn't want to "bust a cap" on the girl.

Meaning percussion cap of course!

That makes no sense!

If I were the manager I'd notice that the ammo is (currently) bringing in customers every day, even if it's not there. Those people most likely will buy whatever they need that day from the store, since they are already in the store. (ie, need some dishsoap? Well since I'm in Walmart already, I'll just pick some up)

Also, if your store can't even keep up with demand, then why not try and sell even more, rather than ... not sell it? Makes no sense financially.

Is that Milpitas or Mountain View. Should we start a thread for Mountain View?

Yup they can't sell ammo but they have selection of ax that anyone can buy.

Next time I come in the store and ask for ammo Ill grab an AX and ask them wich is more dangerous ammo or this AX in my hand?

Same story, different cities. I went hunting when I was in Washington a few weeks ago and Nevada last week when I was out there. Wally's, big 5, Dicks are all cleaned out and have locals lurking on restock days. Lol. Pretty sure every city has their own post forum with updates, so the odds of u finding some are probably slim. Might wanna check atlantaguns.net, wally ammo forum! Lol.

I don't know why some folks think it's just a Bay Area or Cali thing. You should be able to figure it out as soon as you go on Midway or Brownells.

I was there this morning, no calibers that anyone would want. I was told that the truck tonight is expecting some 9mm, 45, and 22 magnums.

That is all...JOE

The Madera WM had 20+ boxes of 45 (some HP, most FMJ)and maybe 10-12 9mm this morning.
People already arrived and left with the 22. I did buy the 100 round value box of 12 Target loads. $27 with tax.
Fresno residents, I hear Fresno Ag is selling ammo and from I'm told they had a good stock of it.

Ammo is now being stocked overnight to be sold in the morning. No more "straight off the truck to floor". Way too many crybabies complained again about not being able to buy ammo and the competition for ammo. Best bet is to line up real early in the morning out in the cold. If someone happens to stock it earlier then you are lucky. Good luck friends.

most of the calgunners who hang out at around 430pm are very patient and don't really whine.

i was told that the real reason for the change of time is because the unloaders do not wish to be pressured to look for the ammo by the floor staff (who are trying their best to make the people waiting, happy). so now, if there is ammo, it is unloaded and kept in the managers office for morning stocking.

I was in MV Walmart (buying a kids bike) and cruised by the ammo cabinet. This was around 10am.

All they had was 30-06, 270, 300 (something), bunch of 410 stuff, one box of 30-30. and other stuff you use to when you go aardvark hunting or something (ie; obscure hunting calibers)

Most folks in person are quite pleasant, dealing with others and employees. From what i've seen the rude ones are the ones calling in asking when, where, when, exact time, when, when, when etc.

Good seeing some of you folks bright and early today!

You nailed it. The phone calls are a big factor. They dont like what they hear over the phone so they decide to go above store level and thats when it rolls downhill.
