If Costco wasn't so anti gun, they'd make a killing (no pun intended) in California with bulk ammo, especially the Bay Area.

Sorry to get on the ammo at Costco fantasy. The Walmart Rem Megapack in .45 for $97 isn't that great of a deal. That comes out to almost $20 for 50 rounds. If I remember right the Federal FMJ 50rd box there costs around $17 or $18 I think and its probably better stuff anyways. The Rem Megapack is way overpriced IMO.

Sorry, my LGS charges $25 + tax for 50 rounds of small pistol primed 45. I'd be happy to support them if they had reasonable prices for ammo.

Federal is $18 per 50 ($17.96 to be exact). If you cost average, you pay about $1.40 more per 50 for the UMC value pack. It's not bad considering the range will charge you anywhere between $22 - $27 per 50. Also, consider how many times you will drive to Walmart just to check if they have the Federal 50 pack in stock. At $4+ per gallon in gas, it washes away the $1.40 per 50 savings above. Federal 50 packs are always sold out before the UMC 250 packs.

Between the Federal FMJ and UMC FMJ, my 1911 can't tell the difference. It will eat either of those rounds without prejudice.

The WWB 9mm 100 round pack is running $24. The Federal 50 round pack is now $12. They used to be $10.47. Currently, the ONLY 9mm worth picking up is the Federal 100 round "value" pack at $20. Otherwise, nothing to get exited about.

It's not cool to tell us what they have, without giving us a price to compare

Went in today and realized that some ammo prices have gone down (some .22 and .223) but some have also gone up (.45 and 9mm). WWB of .45 was $36.97 now it's $39.97. 100-pack of federal .223 was $39.97 and now it's $34.97. Strange.

Hey Valegian, where did you see the XM855? I didn't see it and asked and they said they haven't had it for a long time.

On the 9mm, they only have 3 boxes left of the 100 rounds, but it's not in the shelf as you have to ask for it. :-) An hour ago they had 5 and wanted to get all 5 but I'm on a budget. They have a 50 boxes of the 9mm 50-pack, but not as good deal at the 100-pack.

They had 1 box of XM855 (420 rounds). Some guy bought it but the sales rep checked the system and there were more on the way. Sold for $164.

If I remember correctly, the Federal 9mm 100 pack should be selling for $19.97 per box.
