Default Customized Mosin Nagant with some taste(:

So this is my Mosin Nagant 91/30 that i got at Big5. i decided to strip the whole wood stock off and use an Ati monte carlo stock designed for a mosin. next after hours of sanding it fit somewhat nicely now. i painted the whole barrel and receiver in a high heat bbq flat black paint, then the complete stock with a textured sand like paint with black beads in it too also the scope rings are painted with this paint too. The bipod is a UTG Tactical OP Bipod. the scope is a Bushnell 3-9x40E dual illuminated green and red crosshair scope. and i left the regular bolt in. Hope you guys are somewhat impressed with my 1st time work. thanks.

I like that. The scope mount would have been better on a M38/39/44 but that works. I like it.

thanks guys means alot to me.. yea the stock color i love cause most people leave the stock black which looks plain and boring, i tried to spice it up.i think it would be more badass if i added a muzzle brake to it but cant find one, theyre all for a m44 nd i dont want to thread and mess up my barrel either..

bro, the bent bolts are really cool but i dont want to spent 50 bucks for one. i want to see if the glendale gun show has them. im just going to get a longer scope with a little more eye relief, i really dont need a bent bolt, it will still clear with an inch to spare

The more I look at it, the more it's growing on me. I like it. Makes me itching to get one. How does it shoot?

ive only shot it with the iron sights with it. it shoots very well. but i went to the glendale gunshow to get my range safe ammo which is hard to find. so ima finally shoot it with the scope and zero it in.

I will admit I only opened this thread expecting to see another hack-job mosin and to post berating comments about it, but all I can say about that rifle is it looks really good. If it were my rifle the ONLY thing I would do to it at this point aside from a long relief scope is to cut the barrel to remove all trace of the front sight post, and have it threaded to install a flash hider or muzzle brake.

It looks fine, but does that scope actually have enough eye relief to be usable? Most scopes are around 3-4 inches, you're going to need something closer to 10 inches.

If you have access to a torch, you could heat the handle and bend it yourself. That's what I did with mine.

I tried that mount..I could not find an LER scope that would accommodate that much relief. So I went with the ATI mount. That mount is awesome.

Makes it a bit tougher to reload..but I can deal. I usually load one at a time anyways. Only time I load all 5 is when I go hunting.

How did that textured paint hold up on the stock? It looks good.

Here's what mine looks like.
