LMAO if you think about it fastkevin help bring more attention to RG and may have contributed for additional sales. Thanks Kev for helping the "asians" prosper. It's great that this thread is still going.

BTW - TY to RG for the great service. Bought 2 JD lowers, Remy700, and bunch of AR accessories for the 2 lowers I built into rifles.

I visited Riflegear for the first time last week....schlep'd 80% of the way across the LA Basin for a PPT of a lower. Found a busy lobby during lunchtime, and was initially put off by the number system, but did my business (being white and a federal vet & dropping my current state reservist card), I'd have to say - my experience was positive. The sales guy was even nice enough to set free the seller, not making him wait until I had finished all my paperwork (which he didn't need to wait for). It was clean, well lit, full of LOTS of toys and 65 degrees. The few LAPD detectives there were as much of kids in a candy store as everyone else.....good times...

Fast forward a few days later, I'm at Turner's - buying a complete rifle (ok...merely laying away a Mossberg Tactical 22), and (a) it was law of the jungle at the counter, with lots of confused stares about who was first, who was there to fondle vs purchase, etc. And the sales guy doing a PPT for two gentlemen made them both wait until he was 100% complete with the sale. Another sales rep was going on and on about how much $$$ he's made over the years buying low & selling high to a customer, while the line only grew longer. Oh - and the AC wasn't working and it was 90 degrees in that store! Made for a fun 45 minute wait to give them my $$$.

Translation = For me - Riflegear went the extra mile to be fair & prompt in my limited experience there. Turners = Same story, different day.

Theres really only 2-3 gunshops that are pleasant to deal with and riflegear is for sure one of them. People can't praise them enough

Man, I don't know what happened today.

I was at the gun show in Orange County and I spotted the Riflegear booth. Being both white and prior service, I fully expected to be completely ignored, so I walked by without intending to stop.

However, I was accosted by an employee at the booth who warmly greeted me by name and started shooting the sh*t, even though I haven't been to the store in more than a year! WTH?

When I was finally done talking with the one employee, I continued on down past the booth and I didn't even make it to the next tabel when another employee stopped me and wanted to know how I was doing and whatnot. I think he was the owner? Sheesh! Far from ignoring me, they were accosting me and demanding that I stop and BS with them, even though I had no intention of buying anything! Damn, why won't these people leave me alone?

:-D

Guess it's time to buy something from them again.

I must be losing it. I am a white guy and go to Riflegear. I have had such great and fast service that I didn't even realize I was being discriminated against. Wow.

I went in today with the intention of buying only 3 lowers. Ended up doing an open dros for a saiga and another lower at pick up...

Damn it.

Im a big half asian vet and I have always received great service here! Perhaps they only hate ARMY. but can you really blame anyone for that? and nobody is partial to asians. In fact...I hate the asian part of myself...if there was such a thing as partial suicide...i would commit it

OMG! This is the best thread...

I only discovered this morning that riflegear was local and I decided to head over. Brian (Asian dude behind the counter) totally rocks. Couldn't have been more helpful or nicer. He probably spent 30 minutes going over the aspects of a custom upper build.

He mentioned they were a sponsor here, so I was checking the threads and came across this. It must have been help whitey day at the store... LOL

I'll be shopping here as much as I can. Thanks!

Hey robojet,

Thanks for giving Brian kudos and a shout out!

I know this thread is soo old, but itís just soo full of winÖ(and fail OP).

At first, I thought to myself, dang, what's the world coming to when "White" folks can't be helped...(kidding obviously).

I recently DROS'd with Rifle Gear (yet to pickup) and like a few, came across this winning thread and just had to post what a great experience I had!!!!

AND

I think I've found my new favorite shop, now if I can only get them to remember my name like they do at another store I frequent...:laugh

In all seriousness, service was good to me (but Iím a lighter shade of brown so that may have had something to do with it).

The first sign for me that this thread starter was full of fail(other than the silly title) was the last time I did a PPT in Riflegear. Well, it wasn't a PPT really, I ordered a rifle from Atlantic and had it sent to RG. The guy to do the paperwork was a white guy full of tats that suggested .... well....whiteness. Norse figures, Odin's Cross, that kind of thing. I really don't know anything about this guy other than he was polite, professional and courteous and given his ink this thread is ridiculous on it's face.
I have been in there so many times David should be inviting me over for dinner and have NEVER had even a hint of inconvenience. I have to drive 30 miles from South County and there's other stores closer. (not bad either, great actually, some are just cool for certain things that others aren't)

They display NONE of that BS gun store-itis some guys get behind the counter.

I've dealt with Brian(he's managed to sell me three rifles and talked me into an SpringerXD) and I think pretty much everyone else in there and will gladly do so in the future. Hopefully in the very near future.

i concur...

i've made most of my big purchases there.. one time i was skipped over too.. but that's because i wasn't paying any attention because i was busy drooling over the stuff behind the counter... i raised my hand said "hey what about me!!" i was helped without an issue!

i've been so happy with riflegear's service.... i'd rather drive 1 1/2 hours to give them my business than give the gun shops around my area business...

I'm another happy white guy (have an Asian wife) who bought a custom upper from Riflegear. Brian helped me and answered all of my questions. Great service!

I recently moved from San Diego to LA and no longer have Parallax Tactical within driving range. Now Riflegear gets all my business.

Default Bought my first rifle from Riflegear

The staff was very helpfull though it is 60 miles each way to riflegear they had a much better deal than all four of my LGS. The staff was helpfull and friendly and btw the employee who sold me the rifle was white and the one who I picked up my saiga IZ132 from was asian. If they ever have a long gun that I am interested in purchasing like the ones in my signature I will deffinetly purchase it from them. Also I would not hessitate to purchase my first ar-15 a colt le6940 from them, I think they had the sp6240 on stock when I went to pick up my saiga.

I'd heard of RG before, but tonight I browsed this thread and decided to check out their website. Great stuff! I just might buy an Arsenal there, and I'm really glad the OP was discriminated against or I never would have found them.

I'm white too, and demand my 'cracker' discount!

I just saw this thread cuz I'm looking for a store in OC I can step foot in, then WOW, I scrolled through all 7 pages looking for a 2nd post from the OP. The thread was like about halfway through page 2.

Anyway, since I'm here, David, I'm looking to buy my first handgun and am leaning toward a Browning Buckmark, but I don't see Browning on your list of pistols you rep. What's the story, do I need to find another shop?

Thanks.

btw - please do not discriminate against me for being white, liberal, fast and/or named Kevin.

It does suck sometime going into riflegear and waiting... But that's because the store rocks!!! And everybody knows it! They are the most helpful, knowledgable gun store in oc. I would rather sit and wait, and know I'm going to get great service, without being up sold unnessesary crap. I'm glad the associate ignored the op... As is ticks me off when people can't get off their cell phones!! And then drops the race card... Wow!!
Keep up the good work riflegear... See you on sat.

Sincerely
Another white guy

Frank, who is white btw not asian, was AWESOME went I went with my mother to buy a gun. He spent more time talking about vegetarian (VEGETARIAN) recipes with my vegetarian mom instead of talking to me and I REALLY appreciated that. He went out of his way to make my mom feel comfortable and I'm very impressed with his customer service intuition and his focus on my mom's experience.

We're Indian btw and we received very non racist service from the very white Riflegear employee. I'm a Riflegear customer for life.

RifleGear FTW!!

I live in the West SFV so trucking it out to RifleGear is a bit of a trip. Worth it though. Read through some of this thread and figured I could use a couple more 10/20's. Always happy to support the home team.

Ordered... : )

well, this thread made my night... I'll be happy to go to sleep right now and know that this was the funniest thing I've read this week... I just spent some franklins on riflegears website 2 days ago... superb prices and the page was easy to navigate.. My package arrives sometime today when the ups man decides to stop drinking coffee and deliver my package at a normal time instead of 9pm at the end of his shift having me dying waiting for my new goodies haha... I called rifle gear yesterday to ask about the acs stock I purchased and got a super friendly guy on the phone who took care of me right away... I'll continue to use and recommend this company.

Basically your story is BS and you didn't sack up and speak up that you were skipped. If you had spoken up, we would have immediately served you since you were next. I can post the video footage here for all to see if you like.

I don't post on forums much anymore, but I gotta say, after reading this response I'm happy I chose Rifle Gear as the place to order an FN SCAR 17S from last week.

I've met the RG folks at the gun shows and bought from them online. They were great. But that's just me. I love crackers...and Cheese Whiz...and this thread.

I'm glad that's all cleared up,
I just started purchasing items from Rifle Gear in the last week or so, I was thinking they were going to be my new go to store, which they are.

I'm a white vet,and approve this message.

I'm in pain from laughing. Can't believe this thread spanned so many months.

I'm in the market for a WASR and was looking at RG. I searched Google to try and find any info on Black Friday deals at RG and if they do them (which I did find a thread posted by them last BF so hopefully they do it again and if that's the case I'll be buying much more than a WASR) when I found this thread. I'm much too far to visit the store but I'm seriously going to make the WASR purchase from them BF deals or not because of this thread.
