Default CMP has Remington .22 Ammo

Just got this in today and thought I would pass it along

Looks like CMP has a nice deal going on some Remington 5,000 round case of .22's for $ 90.00 / Mil. contract /sealed box / Dated 1995

This will feed my Mossberg 44 for a while

Might have to mention this at the range today seeing as it's only $65.00 for clubs.

Thanks for the info. Less than $.03 a round would be hard to beat for plinking ammo. Hope you get a surprise and its some quality target ammo. Please post how it shoots if you get some.

Shows available again.

On the CMP forum Orest Michaels, the head guy there, said, "selling at at least 100 cases per hour. should be sold out before weekend is over".

Couldn't resist, ordered a case. The price is just too good as long as it goes bang. It may be thunderbolt but with the velocity and round nose bullet it could be the target ammo. Regardless it will kill soda cans and clay pidgeons.

Made in 1995 it may turn out to be decent ammo.

Yes you should. I suggest you contact CMP right away and ask for 10% or more on each case.

Rimfirecentral folks are buying it as well. I read it will shoot MOW (Minute of Watermelon) @ 25 yards. Just kidding, I have five .22 rifles and one pistol. One of them should like it.

Seriously, thanks for the initial post on this. Heck of a deal on .22 ammo. I'll post how it shoots when I get it. Hope others do as well.

Club went ahead and put in their order. Unfortunately I was named as someone not to be allowed anywhere near the .22lr stash. Something about half a case a week not being covered by club fees, lol. I'll probably grab a 100 though and run a small pistol and rifle trial to test them out. It's to bad CMP will be out of these soon.

I picked up some this morning. I'm not a huge fan of Remington ammo but at those prices I figure worst case it'll become my new "guest ammo" when I go to the range with a first timer.

Its a 1995 vintage so we may all be surprised. Not the current production stuff that lots of folks have problems with. Then again, maybe I'm just hoping.

Wow!

I got an e-mail from Brownells today warning of a coming ammo shortage this year. They said that .223 is already constrained....looks like shades of 2009 again!

The CMP should have received my packet on the 17th with all the forms. Anyone know how long it takes to get processed into my estore account? The website won't let me order any ammo yet.

You may want to email Customer Service for status. If ammo still available on monday you may be able to call it it.

It's now showing sold out. Wonder how many cases were sold total.
