Default Who's buying all the ammo at Walmart!

Someone is buying all the ammo at Walmart! The last two weeks i went to 2 different Walmarts and most of the 9mm is gone including the .45...I hate buying ammo at gunstores cause it's so over priced...Guess i have to wait till the San Jose Gun show next month to buy my ammo...

The Walmart near me only had .22, .25 and .38 on the shelves. They also seemed incapable of telling me when thier next shipment of ammo was expected. Oh well, I go there for cheap prices, not customer service.

It's not somewhat cheaper, it can be a lot cheaper. I always pay under $0.20/rd for 9mm shipped to my door. What is your price, including tax and gas to drive around the bay area looking for Walmarts that have ammo? Probably a lot more.

And the UPS guy is probably faster than waiting for the next gun show.

Walmart gets trucks a couple of times a day. They never know when items come. My neighbor is a manager, I thought I was being smooth and asked him what day ammo comes. Turns out no one knows.

well, online is really not THAT much better...In my local Big 5, a box of 45 acp is typically $26. Shipped to my house from sportsman's Guide, 45 ACP is roughly $23/box.

Where do you guys get yours for cheaper? what manufacturer/brand of ammo are you buying?

San Marcos has been out of a lot of ammo lately. Especially .45 Even when they get a shipment in, it doesn't re-fill the shelves or last very long.

Last Thanksgiving I made friends with the sporting goods manager at my local Walmart by bringing him a turkey leg and some pecan pie.
Now I just tell him what I want and he puts it away for me.
Easier to catch ammo with a little honey than with vinegar, isn't that how the saying goes.

In the bay area between the Cow Palace and Vallejo Gun Show there's about 10 opportunities to stock up locally if you don't want to purchase online. And of course the occasional Wal Mart trip.

Agree 100%. Picked up 2k 9mm plinking ammo from freedommunitions for 280+30shipping when there was a coupon code. $7/50rd box and it will last me a really long time. At walmart I paid $50 for 200 rounds of winchester white box. You do the math

I think I have a pretty good price on ammo, or is it out of line? Feedback please.
