Default Good Price for Ruger Police Service Six 357?

What would be a reasonable price for a Ruger Police Service Six in 95% blued condition, 2.75" barrel on a private sale? I searched online and found a few opinions on the ruger forum and the high road. Wanted to see what some of you here think. Thanks.

From what I've read, I would think a little more to some people. No longer made and some people like them more than the newer gp100 series. I think a S6 for 250 would be a steal

So what would you say would be a "fair" price. Fair to buyer and seller, a price both should be happy with?

I paid 450.00 for a blue 4" security six last summer and was really happy with the deal.
380.00 for any of the six series is a good deal!

They are considered some of the best revolvers that Ruger ever came out with. Same modular system as the GP, but with the nice half lug barrels and lighter, easy to point and carry than the GP series. Also has the more classic look with the full grip frame. They are like Mini Redhawks.

That barrel length of 2.75 inches is ideal for carry as is the fixed sights.
You will never find one for 250.00!LOL
It will be gone in a flash.

I agree $250 seemed too low, but I did ask for opinions, so it's cool. What I've found online is closer to $350 +/-

I would think $400 given the short barrel. You will not see them for $250-$300, that would be a steal.

$375-400 is what they go for on average. I have seen them go for $450, however that is almost always with a 4" barrel.

Yes, but you can't import them as they are off roster, so you have to wait until you find one locally, and they are getting harder to find, so thus the mark up in going price.

Around here, there was a premium speed six in 2.75 inch, round butt in 9 mm with one moon clip on consignment for 400.00. The right place, the right time, the right person, that would have lasted one minute, but it sat on the shelf for over four months. Might still be there, but it was one of the more sought after, only the local people didn't know what it was.

High 3's low 4's I would think is fair, depending on condition. But it really depends on how many are being sold. If everyone is keeping theirs and theirs hardly any on the market, then I could see that price being higher. Plus, its a ruger, built to last, I personally have never heard a story of a ruger revolver being a piece of junk, even if its 30 years old.

Thanks all. Found one for $380 with extra grips and a bag, seems like a good deal. I'm psyched about it. I really wanted a s&w model 19, may still get one in 4", but I've heard nothing but good things about rugers as well.

I suggest at least $300 if you want a quick sale. These days in CA, It would probably sell pretty fast at $400.

I bought one in very good shape a year ago for $325 (FTF, no sales tax, no NICS). These are truly great revolvers.
